Mother's Day!!!!! (5-13-12)

Less than one week to Mother's Day! Moms do so much, they deserve to be honor at all times as the Lord says they should be. I am glad there is was a special day given for us to honor our moms nationally annually. This week we will be posting some things pertaining to MOM.

The purpose of this national holiday is to recognize the contribution of mothers and strengthen family bonds. Mother's Day was proclaimed as a national holiday on May 8, 1914 in the United States by President Woodrew Wilson. The establishment of this day of celebration can be credited to Anna M. Jarvis (1864 - 1948), who wanted to honor her mother's wish for a day of observance for mothers. When the young Anna Jarvis listened to her mother wish during a Sunday school class on women in the Bible, there was no day of observance for women. She started a campaign to fulfill her mother's wish two years after her mom died.

Reach Out To Others!

Lord, grant me a heart of compassion so burdened for others’ needs that I will always show your kindness in my attitude, word, and deeds.--Someone out there may need a friend today, someone to listen and just be there, someone to give them a word of hope and show them we care. There are many in this world void of these things and more. Let us reach out when we see others hurting and in need of these and let us reach out to them in a mighty way all to the GLORY OF GOD!

The devil is a liar.

The devil is a liar!!! Don't give up or give in. Your life is valuable, you are of worth. Why settle for scraps on the ground when you can have the finest from the Master’s table. You are more than a conqueror. If God be for you who can be against you. The lion is on the prowl seeking to see whom he can devour. Don’t give the enemy ammunition to destroy you. He is waiting for you to be off guard so he can stick his foot out and trip you up. Don’t get it twisted, he is not looking to elevate you or present anything of good to you because the truth is not in him. The only position he desires to see you in is flat on your face and down and out. Continue to stand, hold fast, pray without ceasing, and be ready to reap the best that God has for you in your due time and season.

Love one Another

The proper measure of our spiritual condition is shown by the quality of our lives, which is measured by such attributes as lowliness, gentleness, patience, and how we bear with one another in love. All of the afore mentioned is a good indication that we are moving toward God’s goal for us...Ephesians 4:12-13

Our love for God can be measured by our love for others.--DB
