Dana Marie Neal: Revisited

This month, the first of 2012 the spotlight is again on Dana Marie Neal. She is a life and business coach as well as Motivational Speaker. She has been encouraging others to live beyond their current expectations since rededicating her life to Christ in 2005. She is the Founder and President of 4, My Kids, Inc., an organization created to help students who do not meet the 4.0 criteria obtain scholarships to attend college, and help families eliminate debt; owner of C.K.Q Gifts, which celebrated 12 years of service in February of 2011. Dana is excited about what God is doing you can see this upon viewing the entries in her “E.s.s.e.n.c.e (Edified Saint Saved to Excel the New Birth in Christ Exalting the Lord) of a Women” Blog. Dana Neal is a woman you can surely say has not let any grass grow under her feet. Since last interviewed back in November 2007 she has certainly grown and expanded her ministry even more than it was in the past almost four years. Woman2Woman Lounge has reconnected with her for this interview. Together let us read what changes her life, business and her ministry has taken.

W2W: Dana tell us what new things you have been doing these past couple of years outside of C.K.Q Gifts and E.S.S.E.N.C.E of A Woman.

Dana: Things have surely changed. I have revamped the businesses and put some on the back burner. C.K.Q. GIFTS is now a part of C.K.Q. LLC and is on hold while I move in the spiritual direction God has for me. I have listened to God and have been building my ministry FAM (short for Family) 4 You Breakthrough Ministries (with On Bended Knee Praying Wives Club and Rare Jewels as sub ministries). I have also been working diligently on being a lifestyle and business coach with Building You w/Coach Dana (a division of C.K.Q. LLC)

W2W: Tell us about your book "No longer a Victim".

Dana: No Longer a Victim is my testimony. It’s my life as I see it. Anyone else might think it’s a fabrication (as they have shared with me) but I know the real deal. The book is a look at my life without holding much back. The Holy Spirit helped me write the words and complete the book in a way that every situation I went through will help others to get through.

W2W: Have you set any new goals for your business and or ministry in 2012?

Dana: I will be traveling for business and ministry in 2012 and prayerfully leaving the 9-5. Both entities will present webinars and conference calls to build and there are also more books to finish!

W2W: Many have resorted to using Facebook to minister to others which I love because a lot of people use social networks to do things not to God's glory. Do you have any links to other pages you oversee other than your personal page that you would like to share with us?

Dana: Sure! I love doing online ministry because you reach the MASSES!

W2W: How do you overcome adversity and stay encouraged to continue doing
what you do?

Dana: I have to stay in prayer! I can’t stop. There are too many attacks on my life both in the natural and the spiritual, yet, we know that no weapon formed against us shall prosper. I lean on God and understand that HE is in control.

W2W: When you experience periods of burnout as we all do and need periods of rest what scriptures do you meditate on in God's Holy word that refresh your spirit?

Dana: I truly listen to gospel or jazz (instrumental) music, and allow the Spirit to speak to me without a cluttered mind. Recently, I just finished reading the Bible in 60 days and the clarity I have received from that has given so much to “relax” on and in, that I am truly comfortable. Nehemiah 8:10

W2W: Describe what a full day of ministry entails for you Dana Marie.

Dana: A full day of ministry is posting in my groups for the daily bible study, answering questions, ministering to them the true gospel meaning, not the man-made doctrine that people have been poisoned with. My Full day of ministry is really sharing what GOD IS SAYING and not what Dana is saying.

W2W: What legacy and lessons would you like to pass down to your children in helping them grow in Grace?

Dana: I want my children to learn to lean on God and not on man. I them to understand that only HE can direct them, save them, help them, and bless them and know that even life will present its problems God is their one and only. I can’t teach them with mere words out of my mouth, I can only teach them from my actions.

W2W: What can we pray about for you in this New Year?
Dana: Pray that I keep renewing my strength to walk in my calling.

Happy New Year

Welcome 2012, hallelujah God has brought us into a New Year. I hope everybody's Christmas Holiday was a blessing! "New Year, New Things" is the motto of The Woman2Woman Lounge this year! We have been on somewhat of a brief hiatus as far as our interviews go but never sleeping on the job when it comes to ministering to the women of God and the men as well. I am looking forward to seeing what God will be doing not only my life, but the lives of others he will have my path cross with. Wishing good health and prosperity for all in the continued year. We will start off this year by revisiting some of the women I have interviewed in the past since TW2WL was formed in 2007 to see what continued and new things God is doing in their lives. I have not stayed completely disconnected from these ladies and have not seen much of any grass growing under their feet. With many social networks available for a platform to share the word of God with others and be a light for him in this often cold and confused world these women are continuing to keep busy in drawing others to Christ and uplifting, teaching, an edifying one another. I hope you will continue to keep your eyes on my blog and read along with others as we continue on our journey in a new year. Woman in the Spotlight: Tracia Price

This month’s woman in the spotlight has been is a work at home mom, and caretaker of special needs children for the past 12 yrs. She chose to work from home so she could spend more time with my children. She started her own business in Maryland back in June of 2008. Her name is Tracia Price and she loves crafting. Linda Clem, a friend of hers taught her how to crochet and she has been hooked ever since. What better business to establish then something based around what you love doing. She is an active member of a local group called “Twisted Stitchers”, and she is also an Associate Professional with “The Crochet Guild of America”. Tracia hopes to become successful enough in her business that she can bless her family with financial stability. As for her business she hopes to accomplish what every woman wants for their business, success, which is why she stays committed at what she does. W2W: Thank you Tracia for committing to this interview. Tell us a little bit about your business.

Tracia: My business is called “Crochet by Tracia” formally known as “Gifts by Tracia”. My product line consists of handmade crocheted items made by me. I sell scarves, hats, shawls, etc. I can crochet just about anything at a reasonable cost.

W2W: What inspired you to start your own business?

Tracia: To be around my children, and be able to attend their school events and teacher’s meetings.

W2W: Being a mother of special needs children how do you balance work, doctor’s appts., your business, and school activities with them?

Tracia: I have two planners. I am very organized (as others say). I am able to put all my appointment into my planners. The good thing about my business is I can take my yarn and hook everywhere I go so I can work on orders. In my work bag I neatly organized, my crochet hooks, current projects, and crochet books.

W2W: What future goals have you set for your business?

Tracia: My goal is to be able to write eBooks about crochet patterns, how to start your own crochet business, etc. I want my products to be eventually sold in stores.

W2W: We are living in trying, and often hard times, things can become a little overwhelming for us. Do you have any favorite scriptures you draw strength from in the Bible?

Tracia: Proverbs 16:3 “Commit thy works unto the lord, and thy thoughts shall be established”.

W2W: When days are pressing for you what motivates you to keep going and not give up on your dream?

Tracia: My children. I am motivated everyday by them.

W2W: What is a typical work day like for you at home Tracia?

Tracia:
Mon.-Fri. 5am-9am I am getting the kids ready for school; fixing breakfast, getting them dressed, etc.

9am-12 p.m. is when I work on my business; making products, marketing, advertising, etc.

1 p.m. I do my errands, grocery shopping if needed, etc.

2:30-7:30 pm is family time; helping the kids get their homework done, getting them ready for the next day, cooking dinner, etc.

W2W: I believe in the power of prayer, what can we be in prayer for involving you and your family?

Tracia: To be able to find affordable housing for me and my family.

W2W: Before we end this interview do you have any words of wisdom to share with a woman who might be reading this that is thinking about starting her own home-based business while raising a family of little ones?

Tracia: If you have a hobby, whether it is scrapbooking, knitting, crocheting, photography, etc. and you want to start your own business a good place to start is with something you love to do. When you love what you do it makes it makes it easier to go into business for yourself.

How to Take Your Offline Business Online

With technology the way it is anymore, people are doing online searches for just about anything and everything. People will do a search to find information on schools in their area, churches, and any type of business that they want to find.

With that said, it’s important that every business have a website or at least a blog that people will be able to find and read. The more they find about you and your business, the better off you will be and the more likely they are to shop with you.

I recommend creating at least a one page website. You will want to include a little about your business, what you offer, how they can find you, your phone number, and your store hours. Including a map would be great.

This one page site will be the first impression people may have of you, so you want it to look its best. Make it look professional yet fun. You will also want it to match what you do in your business. For example, if you own a furniture store, you should include pictures of the furniture you offer. If it’s at all possible, take pictures of the furniture in your store. This will show people that you really do have a store front and it will be inviting for them.

While a one page site is good, it would be better if you included a second page that had customer testimonies. People always want to read good things from other people before they make a purchase from a business they have never used before. Offering these testimonies will increase your sales and traffic to your store.

Offering products online is a great way to get sales even though people don’t come to your store. Online sales can be a little tricky if you receive a purchase from someone that is not in your area, but it’s a great thing because they will likely buy more and they may even stop in your store when they come to your area.

Another way you can get your business in front of the online world is to create a blog. A blog is an online or web log. You make posts that contain any kind of information you want. This is a great way to show your online readers what you have going on in your store and what specials you are running. If you get a new product, you can take a picture of it and include that in a post. You can also include customer testimonies from your in store visitors. Another idea for a post is to take pictures of customers in your store. Make sure you get their permission before using their picture.

It doesn’t matter what type of business you run, you should have a website or blog created for you. Even a small locally owned business should consider this to increase business. Businesses such as plumbers, mechanics, jewelry shops, or used clothing stores should have a website online. Increasing the traffic to your store and your sales is what you are in business for and a website can help you do this and so much more.

February's Woman in the Spotlight

February's featured Woman in the Spotlight is the author of our Book of the Month "Words from the Heart". She is a wife, mother, and grandmother who has now added Author to the list of adjectives that describe her. Her name is Sherry Smith.

Sherry Smith and I met back in the mid 90's when I use to hold Bible Study in my home on Friday evenings. She is friends with a long time friend of mine and they both would come to Bible Study together. Sherry's two daughters, Tamika and Rochell would attend as well. I will never forget the joy I had sharing the word with each of the women who would faithfully attend weekly. It was a time of learning and drawing closer to the Lord and each other in friendship. Now Mrs. Smith is an Author. I was overjoyed in finding out that not only was I writing and telling others of the love God has for us but she was as well. To God be the glory!

"Words from the Heart" is Sherry's platform in telling the world about Christ. She is happy that she found love in Jesus and that God put it upon her heart to share it with others. Sherry admits life is so much simpler now that she's not running around trying to figure out what to do. She is listening to God and takes great joys in experiencing the best times in her life since she met Christ.

Below is my interview with Author Sherry Smith.

1. Sherry what inspired you to write "Words from the Heart"?

God starting placing words on my heart after leaving the hospital visiting my daughter who was sick back in 2008. It was then I began examining my life and looking at the things I was doing wrong and finding out what God wanted from me.

2. Please share with us a little bit about your journey in Christ.

I accepted Jesus as my Savior in 2010, but my journey in developing a relationship with Jesus Christ began in 2008. My daughter had been very sick for two years. One day when I was at work my daughter called me from the hospital which she was in and out of all the time. But this day she called to say mom I don't think I'm going to make it. I left work right away. I was very upset, you see she was always hopeful, so when she said to me, I don't think I am going to make it, I was scared. On the way to the hospital I asked God what should I do and what to say to my daughter. Well at that moment calmness came over me so I said to the Lord, “I give it all to you”. When I reached the hospital my daughter and I just read verses from the bible. It was a rough road but I'm happy to report that in June 2008 my daughter received a new liver and she is presently doing very well.

3. What words of encouragement do you have for writers who desire to have their books published?

I never thought I would write a book but it was what God wanted. If you are a writer and it's been laying on your heart to publish your words, do it. Writing can give you that peace you need. Try writing to God, it helps when you are going through storms in your life.

4. What scriptures build hope in you and give you strength and peace to make from day to day?

John 14:27-- Peace I leave with you my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your heart be troubled and do not be afraid.

Philippians 4:13-- I can do all things though Christ who strength me. (Not sure what scripture this one is.)

5. What advice do you have for others who may be going through storms in their life right now?

Women, when you are going through your storms and it may not seem like it's know end, look up and ask your Heavenly Father to see you though it all and he will make the way clearer.

6. Besides Jesus who has been your inspiration or role model, past or present?

My father, I always wanted to be the twinkle in his eyes, he has passed on. My present role model is Jesus.

7. 2011 is here, a new year, any new beginnings for you, or things in your life you want to do differently?

I hope to do more work for the Lord and tell others how He loves me and them. Also pray that God will help me let go of all my fears.

8. How can we your sisters in Christ be in prayer for you?

Please pray that I stay in good health and that my Bible talk group keeps growing.

Book of the Month: Words From the Heart

Words can be encouraging to another in times of trouble, despair, and hopelessness. Woman2Woman Lounge is back to featuring a book each month we feel is food for the soul in these trying last days. So many are going through and looking for a word that will encourage them, uplift their spirits and give them hope. We learn from one another. "Words From the Heart" is our Jan. 2011 feature.

This month's book is a book written by a friend of mine, Author Sherry Smith. Sherry is a wife and mother of three with a heart seeking more of God. Sherry expresses how life wasn't easy for her. She was always looking for love and trying to find her own self. Her children had always been her life and now that they are older she had to find what to do in life. She's happy she has found love, and that love is in Christ. He is always there for her. He loves her even when she makes mistakes. Every day she tries to empty herself to fill it with his word. She no longer looks for love in the world or tries to find herself in it. She loves family outings, Christian plays, and singing. Mrs. Smith says life is so much simpler now that she's not running around trying to figure out what to do. She is listening to God and joys in the fact that the time she is experiencing now are the best times in her life and have been that way since she found her Savior, Jesus!

Woman in the Spotlight: Candice Cruz

This month’s woman is the spotlight I have grown so fond of. I love this sister in Christ. She is such an inspiration. I met her back in May 2010 and I know it wasn’t by chance we met. I believe it was the plan of God. I was struggling with some personal issues in life and while surfing facebook found myself on the “Broken But Not Defeated” page, which is where our paths crossed. She and I began to talk, and a bond was formed with this angel with inward wings. There was so much hope and positive reading on this page that I couldn’t stop returning to it, and ultimately sharing it with those on my friend list. I was overjoyed to see that some of them have gone over to read and be comforted by the encouraging words posted there.

The sweet sister that overseers this page is Candice Cruz..

Candice is a devoted Mother, Entrepreneur, Actress, and an extended hand to the Body of Christ. From a very young age she always had a heart for people. She use to give away every gift she was given as a child to friends who didn’t have. She never fit in with the crowd and was a loner. Not feeling a part of this world, at the age of seventeen she tried to take her life. Feeling like a complete failure and hopeless, she got in her car with a bottle of high proof rum with plans to drive into a brick wall along the highway. After consuming the strong drink and not getting intoxicated Candice knew that night that life was bigger than her problems. Tears flowed from her eyes until nothing was left. She gave her life to Christ that very night on the highway.

Candice always had a passion for the Arts. At the age of seven she would stand in front of the mirror and just purposely cry for no reason. But little did she know it was preparing her for a journey that she would face throughout her acting career. Being a woman of God in the entertainment world is no simple task. She thrives to set an example that God is with you wherever you go, and in all things we must stand for righteousness. She has turned down roles she felt compromised her beliefs and standards of being a woman of God. She stands on the word that says, “ we should never conform to the things of this world but be transformed by the word of God”. ..Romans 12:12

Her tenacity to be a mentor and friend to the friendless only continued to grow. Her love is unconditional and never wavers. She walks by Faith daily as she faces the storms and difficulties in her career and personal life. She believes standing on the word of God has bought her threw many disappointments but with God she rises above all of them. Candice works diligently to bring to life her organization “Hands of Hope“. The Organization is geared towards housing teenagers aged out of Foster Homes, and rehabilitating teenage prostitutes. She believes that anyone can change and with the light of Christ stand and be a living example to all that God can take what/who/ where you are in life and work his master plan created especially for you.

Enjoy and be encouraged as I share with you the woman to woman chat I had with Candice Cruz.

W2W: Candice, what a wonderful testimony you have. There are many “broken” people in the world all around us today, some that know God, and some that don’t. What special message of hope can you give the two?

Candice: Broken But Not Defeated was created in a time of her life when the hardest challenges in her marriage were faced. God has poured into her so faithfully. She felt it her duty to give back to a world that may be hurting and in need of encouragement and comfort that only the word of God can provide. Standing on her faith and still moving forward with her daily life she continues to press on. Her strength comes from sowing seeds of Hope into the lives of those searching. God is no respecter of persons, he can do it for her he will do it for you. She believes as sisters and brothers in Christ we should be lifting each other up daily. We go through the test for the testimony that can bring hope, restoration and encouragement to those who feel no hope exist.

In life we go through storms and trials that we feel will never end. You may be coming out of one or going in one. But the good news is God is close to the broken hearted. He heals the brokenhearted And binds up their wounds. Psalm 147:3. Be encouraged and of good faith. This too shall pass.

If I can put new hope within the heart of one who has lost hope, If I can help a brother or sister up some difficult long slope, that seems too steep for tired feet to go, If I can help them climb Into the light upon the hill's far crest, I shall begrudge no time or strength that I spend, for well I know how great may be their need. If I can help through any darkened hour, I shall be glad indeed.

W2W: How do you balance it all, Mother, Actress, Entrepreneur, and Messenger of hope?

Candice: The key word is "Balance". My family is far more important to me than any career I could ever have. I know what my priorities are and what’s important in getting things done without lacking in other areas. Time doesn't come I have to make time for each area of my life. Giving Hope to others is like breathing and walking. Its natural. I don't like to see people discouraged or hopeless because in God there is always hope.

W2W: Sister, you are truly a Faith walker. What are a few scriptures you draw strength, and hope from daily?

Candice: It's hard for me to pick my favorites the list would go on. The entire word of God is built on Faith and Hope and that truly comes by having a relationship with Christ. We can say the words and recite the scriptures but if it's not written in our hearts and built on a solid foundation a commune with the father then they are just words. But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. Hebrews 11: 6...Now the just shall live by faith; but if anyone draws back, my soul has no pleasure in him. Hebrews 10: 38...For we walk by faith, not by sight....2 Corinthians 5: 7

W2W: Christ always being First, who else is, or has been an inspiration to you, past or present and why?

Candice: My parents are a big inspiration to me. They are my solid foundation through good and bad they where always there to encourage me. Who I am today is because of them. However my Spiritual mom Pastor Karen Clark is an enormous influence in the Woman of God I am today. Mrs. Clark showed me and my family what it means to really love like Christ. As a teacher, a mom, a friend, a confidant my walk today in Christ is due to her unwavering diligence and uncompromising ways of truly SHOWING me as a LIVING example characters being a mighty woman of God. She always gives the truth whether or not I like the answers. She will never compromise the word of God. She has taught me how to be a better wife, mother, vessel, servant and she has stretched me beyond what I thought I was capable of. Her love, her teaching, her spiritual connection to me is for an eternity. Mrs. Clark has taught me how to pray effectively, and that can only happen when we earnestly pray the WORD of God.

W2W: What is one of the hardest challenges have you’ve faced in life and how did you make it through?

Candice: One of the hardest challenges I have ever faced was problems with in my marriage. Marriage is the biggest treats to the enemy. "For where two or three have gathered together in My name, I am there in their midst." Matthew 18:20. If we give the devil a foot hold in to our lives and family he will stop at nothing to destroy it. But greater is he that is in me than he that is in the world. I have overcome it by the blood of the lamb and word of my testimony. Perfect love casts out all fear. We must learn to love each other as Christ loves us. Everyday wont smell like roses but everyday can be overcome with love and kindness towards one another.

W2W: What are some of the obstacles you have faced being a “Woman of God” in the entertainment business? I know it must bring many challenges to the table for you.

Candice: WOW. Where to start? There are many challenges. The entertainment business is a Beast. This business is not for the faint of heart. As a woman of God we really have to be grounded and spiritually built up. For many in this business and open door is an open door. For myself an open door doesn’t mean that particular job is for me. I’m not seeking the worlds approval only Gods. He who is last shall be first. There are jobs that I won’t do, many see my choice as foolish but at the end of the day my reward for standing with integrity is some much bigger than what was before me. I don’t feel I have to expose myself to have a successful career. It’s a world where people are rude, cut throat, malicious and every other unscrupulous trait you can think of. But just because I’m in that world doesn’t mean I have to conform to it or be someone I’m not to fit in. Life is the same for all of us, we face obstacles in whatever field where in. God is with us where ever we go. And we have to maintain the same Godly principles whatever the situation is. Temptation is a real need carried out in the wrong way.

W2W: What do you feel is one of your greatest accomplishments in life thus far?

Candice: Raising happy, healthy, prosperous young men of God my sons are an amazing accomplishment and witness to never give up on our children no matter how terrible the circumstances may seem. But my greatest accomplishment was when I let go of who I thought I was and allowed God to make me into who I am. With the ability to love those around me unconditionally has set my life up for greater accomplishments to come.

W2W: Who are some of your favorite gospel artists, and are there any particular songs out today that touch your spirit in a special way?

Candice: I love so many, Ce Ce Winans, Donnie McClurkin, Yolanda Adams, Third Day, Steven Curtis Chapman, Shirley Caesar, Nicole C Mullen and the list goes on and on. My most inspirational songs are Yolanda Adams “It’s Gonna Be Nice” this song has helped me through some rough times in my life. Ce Ce Winans “Alabaster Box” always brings tears to my eyes and an outpouring praise to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Donnie McClurkin’s “ Create in Me a Clean Heart” builds my spirit and renews my mind.

W2W: How is the progression of your organization “Hands of Hope” ?

Candice: Hands of Hope is an organization geared to help and rehabilitate young women turned to a life of prostitution and teenagers who are aged out of foster care and various programs. Candice has opened her heart and home for a place of refuge those that needed a safe place and has continued to do so. Hands of Hope is in the early stages of development. A facility has been sought out to house at least 100 women and children. I have not seeked any donations as yet. Hands of Hope will become non-profit eventually. I am using my own personal finances to start the process. I am very excited about it and eagerly working towards signing with Vocational schools and various programs throughout the community. The website is now under construction and will be made available in the months to come.

W2W: How can we as your siblings in Christ be in prayer for you and your family?

Candice: The best prayer that anyone can pray for me and my family, is praying the WORD! It is the most effective and fervent prayer. Always pray the WORD and Will of God.

Time to make a difference

Each person is alloted a portion of time, how much is only known by God. Tomorrow is not promised. Are you making good use of your time? Are you sitting idle or are you leaving your mark on the world? What will your legacy be? How will people remember you? Some live for self and the pleasures of this world, and some leave here having truly made a difference in the lives of others. There is so much work still left to do, so many people, so little time. Service is what God wants from us (to give), yes, even down to denying ourselves. Don't let precious time pass you by, make a difference, don't just walk by and ignore those in need, that person could easily be you. Our world is daily becoming more and more of a Godless society where people are all for self, driven by greed, attracted to status, and enticed by fleshly things. This is not the way God wants us to be or live our lives. He wants us to care about others. The root of many of today's problems is we got so much of us going on and not enough of God. Your wants should not outweigh what God wants, your needs should not be your main focus in life. Don't let time pass you by, make use of each day God allows you to live, use those gifts God has blessed you with, touch the lives of others, be a friend, be an encourager, pray for one another, be forgiving, be a listener, lend a helping hand, don't leave here being known as, it was all about you.

Time alone with God

Don't let handling your business cause you to be to busy for Jesus.-- errands, the kids, sports events, deadlines, quotas, etc. can at times max out your day, but dont let your "to do" list compromise your time with the Lord. We dont want to give God less, we want to give him our best. The many tasks we face each day can burden and oppress, but precious time with God daily brings relief from stress. Time spent with the Lord allows him ample access to your spirit. Let him minister to you through his word and cover you with the warmth of his love. Just be still in a quiet place sometimes and just enjoy the presence of God.

This months woman in the spotlight is a Wife, Missionary, Author, and Professional Christian Web Designer who believes the Worldwide Web can be used as a tool to reach others for Christ. Her name is Lora Rozkowski, she and her husband Gary have a serious passion for outreach. Their mission is not only to get the word of God out via the internet but also to those who are underground and yearning for the truth in other countries where it might not be protocol to own a Bible and have access to the living Word of God. For some time now I have been trying to have a one on one interview with Mrs. Roz to share her story with you all her testimony, and praise God I am now able to do so. W2W: Lora, I love your motto, "reaching our world for Jesus Christ on WWW, What inspired you to begin web designing?

Lora: Sherri, I was inspired to begin web design by just trying it out on some free-servers about 11 years ago. I seemed to have a knack for it and continued to learn how to develop websites. Creating websites made me realize that the Web was an avenue to assimilate information to thousands of people all at the same time. It was a way to outreach the message of the "Good News" of Jesus Christ to all the world.

W2W: Tell us a little bit about your two Christian Businesses.

Lora: Roz designz-- After learning and experimenting with web design I realized early on that Christian ministries, businesses and churches needed to get their message out into Cyberspace and I could help by being their vision enhancer. I am completely self-taught and learned web designz through mistakes, sweat and much prayer. The Emerald Empire--My husband and I sell hand-selected Colombian emeralds as a part-time business. The LORD has just recently expanded our market into Hong Kong and we are thankful that God has opened this door for us. We had been praying for some time on what direction to take with the business and the LORD answered us. Our emerald business began over 15 years ago when we went on a missions trip to Bogota' Colombia to help with an orphanage there. We befriended a native Colombian that worked for the Embassy in Bogota' and spoke excellent English. He came to visit us in the states a year later while on his trip with the Gideon's to Miami Florida. W2W: It inspires me to see others with a heart that truly loves the Lord and live their life showing it. Lora please share with us your testimony of faith.

Lora: I grew up in Detroit Michigan's metropolitan area and lived there until I graduated High School in 1976.
My parents were devout Lutheran's at that time in my life and we (2 brothers and 1 sister) grew up with Christian values, teaching, and a stability I would soon realize in times of trouble I would cling to. I became very restless and eventually quite rebellious and left home to find out what life had to offer. I fell into the lifestyle of "sex, drugs and rock n' roll" which was a pit not easy to get out of. During times of my deepest anguish and loneliness I knew God was there. He comforted me with my own voice singing songs like `Somewhere Over the Rainbow', a kind word from a stranger, or even one time a Christian handed me a very small bible with just a knock at the door. Let me encourage you that whatever you are going through or where ever you have been God is there. EMMANUEL

I eventually came back to my parents home and found them born-again and speaking about Jesus Christ and their personal relationship with Him. My Me & Sapphire Mother recently told me that she was praying that her prodigal daughter would soon return home. The Lord spoke to her, and said "Put a place setting at the dinner table, I am bringing your daughter home." I thank God for a praying Mother and was soon restored to my family. Shortly after my return I met my husband Gary. We married within a year of our first meeting. We were wed in a Spirit-filled church although, we were not yet born-again and we still did not know about God's plan for our lives. Gary and I lived quite the party lifestyle for a few years after our wedding in 1981. Eventually we decided together that we needed to make a go at a better life for ourselves and moved to the Tampa Bay area in Florida.

I had felt the tugging of the Spirit of God on my heart for a couple of years and became filled with the Holy Spirit in 1988. I began reading the Bible in a whole new light. It was like a light had been turned on and the eyes of my understanding were now enlightened. There were allot of events that took place after my receiving the Spirit but...Like I had said the pit was difficult to get out of and we soon fell back to our old habits but...SUDDENLY THINGS CHANGED...Gary was busted with drug possession and had his (our) whole future pass before our eyes. He has his own testimony of how God brought him out of a life of no hope! Now life was about to change radically for both of us. One day in December of 1990 Gary asked me, "Lora would you like to make a New Year's resolution and go to church?" My heart leaped inside and I said, "YES, it's something I have wanted to do for a very long time"! Gary accepted the Lord Jesus Christ into his heart within a few weeks and we gave our lives totally to Him that year of 1991. We have been radically saved and on fire for Jesus Christ ever since. I can see how God allowed those things to happen in my life just the way they did for a reason, to reach out to others that are hurting and going through similar circumstances and need Jesus.

W2W: In November 2009 you went on a missions trip to China, tell us about it.

Lora: Right now in 2010 as Americans we have an open door/window to smuggle Bibles into Communist China without any harsh penalties. (just a small fine and the Bibles returned upon exit) The underground Church is in desperate need of Bibles. There is something like 25,000 coming to Christ annually in China and to avoid the oppression of the government run Church they go underground to worship Jesus Christ freely. Families, teens, seniors are all welcome to join us on our next trip to Hong Kong/China this coming fall of 2010. W2W: Time passes so quickly, we are already into the second month of our new year. What are you looking forward to accomplishing in 2010?

Lora: God continues to challenge me to step into new things in 2010. I truly believe for all of us as Christians that God is calling us into a deeper intimate walk with Him. I pray that the LORD will use my life to inspire others to step out into the deep and trust the LORD with every step. My question of the LORD right now is: a song by Misty Edwards off her new album (1 One thing) and the words that run through my spirit are...How far will you let me go? How abandoned will you let me be? That is my goal for 2010 to jump off the cliff and know God is there to catch me!

W2W: What scriptures inspire you most in the bible and why?

Song of Solomon-- 3:16 - to know Him

Psalm 27:4 - to see beauty

Ezkiel. 16:1-14 - we are free from our past

Psalm 63 - we must be true worshipers

Jeremiah 29:11-14 - God has a plan, no need to worry

Jeremiah. 1:4-10 - called to speak the oracles of God

Colossians. 1:13-14 - the Blood of Jesus adopts us into the kingdom

W2W: Would you offer a few words of encouragement to other women in ministry.

Lora: Beloved, stay the course that God has for your life. Do not be in a rush because all things come in His timing, just be diligent and never give up. He is faithful. God has a plan and purpose for your life, you were called. Surround yourself with people that celebrate, help and encourage you to walk in your destiny. ENJOY the journey!

W2W: In closing, how can we your sisters be in prayer for you during the New Year?

A. revival fires to ignite in our community and the Tampa Bay area.

B. hearts burdened for the China mission field.

C. strength to move into unfamiliar territory (spiritually).

D. protection and undetection as Sigi & David move into Muslim territory to reach the lost.

Words: They have the power to build or destroy...How do you use yours?

How do you use yours? Do you build up others with your speech or cut them down? Do you guard your tongue or could you care less whose feelings you hurt in the process of getting your point across. We need to be careful we aren't using our tongues to destroy the spirit of another. It's not always what you say, it's how you say it that makes all the difference in getting your point across effectively without bruising the spirit of another. Words can hurt and its sad many people fail to realize this. The Bible speaks in detail on how we should treat one another and that we should guard our tongues. Hurt feelings can cause one to want to act in a fleshly manner to get back at another, to make them feel the same pain that they have made us feel in their choice of words and the tone they use in expressing something us. I see more relationships break up because people do not know how to communicate or express themselves to another in the way in which God says we should speak. I find many people do not guard their tongues, they speak first and think last, but once you have said something to a person wrong its hard for them to forget and you surely cant take it back once you said it. The only thing you can do if your heart leads you to is apologize. Some apologize later because they feel remorseful for the damage they have caused with their tongues but many don't because they don't feel they have done anything wrong/ and or dont realize that they have been offensive, even worse some know and flat out could just care less. However, on the flip side of our inflicted pain we must find it in our heart to forgive them. Yes it can be hard especially if you have been publicly humiliated but no matter how difficult it may seem to do so we must because its what God says and wants us to do always remembering the He said we should be not just hearers of the word but DOERS.

The Bible says....Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you....Ephesians 4:32

Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man....Colossians 4:6

Are you a burden bearer?

No matter how strong you think you may be, none of us are exempt to burn out, having are strength and emotions zapped to the point where you feel almost completely taped out.
Thank God from the strength that comes from the Lord. The Lord wants us to be there for one another and love one another. In his word he said we are to bear one another’s burdens and pray for each other. It is during burdenful times that we need one another more than ever. If you can be an ear, or a warrior of prayer on their behalf, I encourage you to do so. Your unselfish act of compassion can mean the world of difference in the life of that individual in need at the very moment of their near mental or physical breakdown. What you say or do through Christ Jesus can feed their spirits and give them the hope and encouragement that brings them spiritual revival.

Social media is a wonderful way to market your business. It’s a great way to be yourself, learn from others, and meet new people. When you network you are there to help others. You learn about their business and what they offer and you refer others to them. When others network properly, they will do the same for you and your business. Referrals are great for business and they make you feel wonderful. When you refer people to the ones you’ve networked with, they will feel good about the relationship and will more than likely refer people to you.

There are so many social media groups you can join. One thing you don’t want to do is join too many. Joining too many groups can lead to stress. It can also defeat the purpose because you won’t have time to network properly. Joining a half dozen or so groups is about all you want. You want to be active so others remember who you are and what you do. That is crucial in growing your business through this type of marketing.

Here are a few of my favorite social media sites and what they are all about.

• Twitter

Twitter reminds me of Instant Messenger. The messages are posted immediately and you can direct messages to certain people. You can follow people so you can read and respond to their messages. You can also direct message people so the messages are sent directly to them and nobody else can read them.

Twitter is a great way to network with others and make friends. It’s also a great way to find clients or customers. You can ask for help and show others what you are doing. I love to brag about my boys on Twitter as well.

• Facebook

Facebook is a great social media place. It’s also very addictive. You can join groups that are of interest to you. You can visit the sites of your friends and sign their wall. It’s also a great place to network. You have the ability to post information about you, your business, and many other things. You can also find your friends on Facebook and stay in contact with them.

• Squidoo

Squidoo lenses are easy to create and great to share with others. You can create a lens on any topic you want and share it with others. To network with Squidoo, you can do a search for lenses that belong to your target market. Once you find them, you can sign the guestbooks that are attached to them. You can also mark them as your favorites and keep an eye on them and comment when they make changes.

You use Squidoo the same way as other social media sites. You build a trust and relationship with other lens creators and they will in turn build the same trust with you.

Social media is great for business and building networking relationships. Networking on the sites above is easy to do and it can be a lot of fun. Not only will you meet great people, you will also learn things and gain more traffic.

Celebrate Jesus!

As the celebration of the birth of Christ approaches tomorrow I encourage you even more to keep your mind focused on Jesus. Let it be a time of reflection that Jesus (I said JESUS) willingly left glory to come down here IN THE FLESH to save a world full of people destined to DIE. All our HOPE and our SALVATION rests on Jesus, who is and always will be the "only" SAVIOR of MEN! Be sure you are following the right MASTER!! October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Breast Cancer Screening is very important. Some types of cancer can be found before they cause symptoms. Screening can help doctors find and treat some types of cancer early. Generally, cancer treatment is more effective when the disease is found early. A mammogram is the best tool doctors have to find breast cancer early. A mammogram is a picture of the breast made with x-rays. Current recommendations by the breast cancer institute is that women in their forties and older should have mammograms every 1 to 2 years. Women who are at higher-than-average risk of breast cancer should talk with their health care provider about whether to have mammograms before age 40 and how often to have them. Either way ladies please do self examinations monthly and report any change to your doctor immediately. Time is of the essence when it comes to cancer period. Don't take lightly or disregard any changes you may feel during a monthly exam of your breast and please don't be fearful or going to the doctors to have a mammogram, the sooner something is detected the better chance you have a eliminating it before it reaches an irreversible and/ or, God forbid, non-treatable stage. Sept./Oct. Woman in the Spotlight: Cherita Jones

Our woman in the spotlight has been in ministry for years, she is committed to marriage and family counseling. She also counsels at risk youths. She is the wife of a pastor and mother to two impressonable daughters. She is a native of Philadelphia who recently transfered to Hawii along with her husband who is also a serviceman.

Her name is Cherita Jones. Evangelist Jones admits that balancing Motherhood and Ministry has been an experience but she keeps going daily by the grace of God and from drawing inspiration from such strong women as, Rosa Parks and Corretta Scott King to name a few. She draws strength from her Faith in God knowing that greater is HE that is in her than he that is in the world. Cherita and her husband have future plans in expanding the ministry they share together as husband and wife, but right now she is committed to raising their two daughters and serving as the Lord leads. I rejoice in being able to share the interview I had with her with all of you.

W2W: Tell us a bit about yourself.

Cherita: My Name is Cherita Jones. I am a devoted wife to Pastor Josiah Jones. We have two lovely daughters Cassandra and Sierra. As an Evangelist, I have spent several years serving in the ministry as well as working in Education at several schools including the University of Pennsylvania. I have been committed to marriage and family counseling as well as counseing at-risk-youth.

W2W: Tell us about your transition from your hometown to Hawaii.

Cherita: Our transition from Philadelphia PA to Hawaii was not an easy task. Once my husband recieved orders to go to hawaii he left a month before me and I had to pack up the household goods and fly alone with my one year old daughter. I did not know what to expect in Hawaii. I felt very prepared to transition to a new place. I don't think that I had any fears. However, there are more than a few difficulties such as, lack of family being around, having to find a place to fellowship, finding a new job. etc... I knew that this is what I would have to face and I embraced it as an adventurious challenge. It has been interesting learing about the culture here in Hawaii and all of the different countries in the Pacific. The food, the stores as well as the customs are a bit different as well. It has been a joy having my second child born here to experience a different culture.

W2W: How do you balance motherhood and your ministry?

Cherita: Ballancing motherhood and ministry has been a learning experience. Most of the time, I would bring my children with me in everything that I did. Either they would sit near me as I taught a group or I would ask others to watch them as I ministered to congregation. God had blessed us with church family that we trust with our children so that we are free to be used. At first when we did not know anyone. My husband and I would take turns with the children. We set up a system that either he or I would be doing something and never at the same time. That way there would always be one of us free to keep an eye on them.

When we moved here, the Lord told me to be cautious of some of my neighbors. In the past the Lord has sent me everywhere and in every situation to minister to people in drug areas and involved in prostitution as well as other lifestyles. However, all of a sudden, I knew that this was a different situation. As I prayed for my neighbors from a distance. I found out that they were deeply rooted into witchcraft and wicka. When it comes to ministering to people, I had to be extremely cautious and prayerful. With young children, their spirit is so open and trusing that as parents we have to be their covering. We have to protect them. Ever since I have had children, my mission has changed from ministering to other people first, to taking care of my children and serving as the Lord leads.

W2W: How is your life as the wife of a serviceman?

Cherita: Life as an army wife is very interesting. All army wives are "married to the military". This life is very self-sacrificing. And many times the rewards that we get are not equivalent to the sacrifices made. Having to be away from you spouse for a year and-a-half. Having to uproot every couple of years can be very stressful. Most civilians don't understand what a military family goes through. However, there is a great deal of pride that each family has because they know that their loved one is protecting our nation and in a time when jobs are scarse and unreliable, it is a blessing to know that this is a sacrifice not made in vain.

W2W: What effect does it have on you and the girls with him being away for weeks at a time and how do you deal with it?

My youngest child was not cognizant of her father's absence. But when he returned she still had tendencies to go to me for everything. My oldest daughter took it pretty hard when her daddy deployed. She is so happy that he is back and she is as close to him now as before. Thank God for skype and other forms of technology, this deployment has been easier because you can call often and the girls were able to see their father through the computer.

W2W: Who or what inspires you to do what you do?

Cherita: Rosa Parks, Coretta Scott King, Juanita Bynum are some of the women who inspire me. These women had to be strong and pray throughout everything that they have gone through. They all had faith in God. Greater is he that is in me than he that's in the world. And they were able to make an impact on their situations as well as impacting others lives.

W2W: What are some of your future goals?

Cherita: Currently, we are looking forward to starting our church in Hawaii.

W2W: What encouragement can you offer to other women who might be going through storms in their life?

Cherita: The darkest hour is right before dawn. As you go through your storm remember that no man is an island. Even if you get depressed never isolate yourself. We all need each other. Never hesitate to ask for prayer, guidance and assistance. Most of the time there are people around who have gone through the same things that we are going through. And many of them would be more than willing to help in anyway that they could. There are eagles out there sometimes we just have to find them and know that they can't be found in the chicken pen.

W2W: Cherita how can we your sisters in Christ be in prayer for you?

Cherita: Please pray that God's protection and blessings will be upon our family.

Church we have to be WATCHFUL!

Lord there is a lot of deception going on in the world. Thank you for your word that helps us discern the truth from a lie & the cover ups of the enemy. His time is getting shorter & your return closer so he is working harder in these last days to lead more souls to destruction. Father help me to be more watchful & more concerned about things of an eternal nature than the things of this world. AMEN

Nancy Sebastian Meyer is our woman in the Spotlight

This months woman in the spotlight is a Wife, Mother, Author, Christian Speaker and Musician who loves connecting people to God and watch His amazing hope heal hurting hearts and restore joy to the lives of others. Whether speaking or writing, she believes in getting real—sharing real pain, God, and hope.

Her name is Nancy Sebastian Meyer and she wants you to know you too can experience unshakeable hope, restful peace and delightful joy. Nancy has written books that minister to women, provide encouragement, and help them in their daily walk. You will be touched by her rock-solid faith in God and His Word.

Nancy's Hope4Heart Ministries is a ministry that helps wives, women, mothers, and daughters to hear God's Word, understand His truths, and apply godly principles to their lives. Through this ministry she also communicates God's love, hope, grace, and peace. Nancy is our woman in the spotlight for the month of July.

W2W: Nancy tell us about your call to ministry and its primary focus.

Nancy: As a young girl, God gave me unusual communication and "platform" skills, plus a desire to marry a pastor. I pursued my strengths and married a youth pastor--who defected after four years to secular work and then rejected his faith completely several years later. Over the next bewildering and rocky patch of life, God showed me the sin in my life (and helped me let go of my husband's sins, failures and weaknesses). The result of God refining me so impacted my husband that our love returned and our marriage healed. We just celebrated 25 years!

As our romantic love for each other returned, I found myself writing an inspirational romance novel (as yet unpublished). God used that to get me to my first Christian writers conference where He uniquely called me to write our true story. Today this includes several Bible study books, 2 vocal CDs, submissions in several compilation books, articles, national radio and TV interviews and 3 nationally published books: Beyond Expectations: Finding Joy In Your Marriage, Talk Easy, Listen Hard: Real Communication for Two Really Different People, and Spiritually Single Moms: Raising Godly Kids When Dad Doesn't Believe.

As our daughter, Becky, goes to college this Fall, God is beginning another chapter in my life and is starting to reveal short- and long-term goals. Because of God's great provision in paying nearly all of Becky's tuition with scholarships, I am still free to share the hope, help and truth God has and is working out in my life and marriage.

W2W: How has this call directed your life?

Nancy: Knowing my ministry is actually God's call on my life and not my idea makes me stick tenaciously to it despite pressures from inside (feelings of inferiority, discouragement, fatigue...) and outside (my husband's pressure to "get a real job" and "step up and fulfill a financial obligation to our family"). And, yes, God does meet all of my/our needs--always on time, hardly ever early, always in His special ways!

W2W: What aspects of your ministry give you the most joy and satisfaction?

Nancy: On a professional note, letters and emails from women who now know they are not alone in their struggle and are finding help and hope in the same truths God taught me so I could teach others. Personally, in those tear-filled moments when life seems overwhelming, I remember that without the constant struggle I might not remember how my readers and listeners feel. For sure, my ministry gives the pain in my life purpose.

W2W: What are a few scriptures that you draw inspiration and strength from?

Nancy: The passage I include every time I sign a book for someone is Psalm 40:1-3. These verses tell what God has done in my life and what I hope each Christian will allow Him to do in theirs!

* My favorite passages are:
o Jeremiah 29:11-13
o Philippians 4:4-8
o Psalm 139:16b and Ephesians 2:10
o Isaiah 55:8-13
o Acts 17:26-28
o 2 Corinthians 10:5 and Romans 12:2
o (ahhh! there are so many more!!!!!)

W2W: I myself firmly believe in the power of prayer, share with us how you feel your life has been shaped through prayer.

Nancy: I've been a Christian for 43 years, and I keep learning more about prayer and enjoying God more as the years go by! Everything about my life has been molded by the prayers I've prayed and those prayed for me by so many others. Our prayers don't change God's mind or convince Him to do anything outside His will, but they serve to make us aware of what God is doing because we are watching Him to see the outcome of situations in our lives.

People praying for me are a significant source of encouragement that keeps me going when life gets unbearable. They have included parents, family, Sunday School teachers, friends, teachers and professors, church members, and most recently with ministry, my prayer partners and advisory team.

Finally, life would definitely be impossible if I couldn't personally pray my heart out to God, hear His still small voice, and dialogue with Him throughout each day. Not possible. Absolutely impossible. I need Him!

W2W: Do you have any words of encouragement for other women in ministry?

* Comfort those in any trouble with comfort you have received from God (2 Corinthians 1:4)

* Rejoice in God's blessings, even when life is hard (Philippians 4:4--it is a verb, a doing word!)

* Be careful of sin and other entanglement as you live out God's call on your life (Hebrews 12:1-2) - watch Jesus!

Many people in the world today are filled with fear, sadness, despair, anger, desperation, depravity, and loneliness. Their lives are miserable, their conditions are so wretched, they see themselves hanging on a string that could break at any moment. They feel hopeless. So many live daily with an abundance of pain but keep it hidden for fear that if they speak on it, it would only increase the pain they are already experiencing.

Christians know the name that can put lives back together, heal bodies, minds, and spirits, the name which all these demons tremble and flee from.

Christ said he came for sinners, not the righteous. Once we are delivered we are not to get full of ourselves and think we are better than those who are not saved to the point that we turn our backs on the people still in darkness, the darkness that Christ brought us out of. Christians have the Holy Spirit within them, and the Holy Spirit wants us to move! God put you on this earth to do a job, and it is in our best interests to go ahead and do it!

Our job is reach people and show them the light, let them know there is HOPE. We have to tell people about Jesus Christ, our redeemer, protector, provider, healer, justifier and defense. He is our only savior! Salvation is of and through him and God has commissioned us to go tell of this good news to others. This should be our life long mission in life to spread some Sonshine!

Monica Marie Jones is our Woman in the Spotlight

This months woman in the spotlight is an author whose published works include The Ups and Downs of Being Round and Taste My Soul. She is also a contributing author in Chicken Soup for the Girls Soul, New Directions for Youth Development and several publications and youth development training materials for the High/Scope Educational Research Foundation. She has worked as a columnist and freelance writer for the Michigan Front Page Newspaper and does consulting, editing and content development for businesses and non-profit organizations. She is also a member of the Motown Writer's Network, Business Women Attaining Millionaire Mindsets (B.A.M.M), Elysian Business Group, and Fully Figured Out.

Her name is Monica Marie Jones. In November 2008 we featured Monica's Book, The Ups and Downs of Being Round. Over forty-six percent of the women in the world today deal with weight struggles. We were compelled to feature her book which deals with issues women face concerning their weight.

In addition to being an accomplished writer Mis Jones is also a professional dancer, dance teacher, and aerobics instructor. She has danced with Gospel recording artists including several venues around the United States with Dorinda Clark-Cole and a three-city tour in Japan with Kierra 'Ki-Ki' Sheard. She also works with the Spirit of the Moment Praise Dance Ministry. We had the pleasure of interviewing Monica and getting to know more about this multi hat wearing author.

W2W: What inspired you to write?

Monica: I have always kept a journal to process my emotions. As I got older I began adding poetry to my journal entries. One day I decided to share my poetry with some friends and I was amazed at how it evoked emotions in them. Shortly thereafter I began writing The Ups and Downs of Being Round. In the midst of writing it, I sent an excerpt from it (That just happened to be a true story) to Chicken Soup for the Girls Soul. After having their staff, and then girls around the world review the story they decided to publish it and they sent me a letter saying, "Congratulations! You are an author!" From that point on I felt that it was confirmed that I had a gift that was meant to be shared with the world.

W2W: I felt compelled to showcase your book The Ups and Downs of being Round on our website because so many women struggle with weight problems, what do you hope readers will learn and take with them after reading it?

Monica: It is my hope that readers will learn that weight loss, or any other external factor for that matter, does not guarantee happiness. You can only find true joy within which is a direct connection to our relationship with God. We must love ourselves if for no other reason than the fact that we are HIS children.

I also include a guide in the back that teaches people how to lose weight by changing their lifestyle as opposed to dieting. It is the plan that I created, after much research, and used to lose 65 pounds and over 50 inches.

W2W: Who are your favorite authors, and why do they inspire you?

Monica: My favorite author is Jacqueline Thomas. She inspires me because she writes inspirational fiction but it deals with the real issues that we face everyday. I believe her writing style is an extremely effective means of ministry because when you read it you don't feel bad for not being perfect. Her writing speaks to you instead of preaching at you.

W2W: What is your advice to an aspiring novelists?

Never stop. I use this mantra in everything that I do. Even if it is the smallest thing, continue to do something toward reaching your goals every single day. So to all of the aspiring novelists I say this:

1. Write everyday, whether it is a journal entry, a blog, or a scene in your book, just write.
2. Do your research, read books about the craft of writing, and read books that are the same genre of the book that you plan to write.
3. Immerse yourself in the literary world. By this I mean, network with other authors, join listservs, subscribe to newsletters, attend conferences. If you can't afford the conference fees do like I did for years and volunteer :)

W2W: Are there any new projects your working on? Will there be another book?

Monica: I already have a poetry book called Taste My Soul and an Urban Contemporary fiction book called FLOSS published. Currently I am working on another installment of the FLOSS series called SWAG, the sequel to The Ups and Downs of Being Round, which is called, The Flip Side of Fat, and the Child and Teen versions of the Ups and Downs of Being Round.

W2W: You are also involved with the Spirit of the Moment Praise Dance Ministry. Tell us a little about your involvement in this beautiful ministry.

Monica: I have danced with the Spirit of the Moment Praise Dance Ministry for a little over a year. Currently I have taken a leave so that I can focus on my writing and my Breakthrough Book Tour, but I am still a member. I just help behind the scenes when I can. W2W: Monica what are your three favorite scripture verses and why?

Monica: Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 This is one of my favorite scriptures, particularly verse 12 because is reminds me of what many have forgotten about the ministry of marriage. Throughout the verses leading up to 12 it talks about how two are better than one...but at the end of verse 12 it says that a three-fold chord is not easily broken. To me that represents how when we add God into the equation and keep Him there, then we have strength beyond measure.

Philippians 4:13 - This is my favorite because whenever I doubt myself or my ability I simply repeat this scripture over and over to myself. "I can do ALL things through Christ who strengthens me."

Luke 12:48 - I feel like God constantly whispers this to me in so many ways. "To Whom much is given, much is required." When you have been given the gift to minster to others whether it be though writing, speaking, being a good listener, or dancing...you have a great responsibility. You are given so much because it is meant for you to share, not to keep it all to yourself.

W2W: Do you have any final thoughts to share with us?

Monica: I just want to say that I have stepped out on faith and left my job to write full time :) So I am a living testimony that it is possible to follow your dreams and pursue your purpose and your passion and still prosper. I not only write to entertain, but to inspire, educate, motivate and add value to the lives of others.

Simplify the Season: Celebrate the Savior

Thanksgiving is now past tense for 2008, Christmas is near. People are scrambling to shop, craft, and deck the halls. Advertising is at an all time high in order to draw people into the stores ergo boosting sales.

Sometimes you turn on the news and there is such madness going on, some events even tragic. Some become so frantic around the Holidays. Thanksgiving is based around being thankful for what we have which in fact we should have this attitude daily. Christmas is based around giving and Love which is what God showed us when He sent his son to die on the cross so that we could live. The word of God says that He showed his love toward us that while we were yet sinners Christ (His Son Jesus) died for us. It also says God so loved the "world" that He gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life. He sent his Son in the world not to condemn but that the world through "Him (Jesus)" might be saved.

Yes, there is a big question mark as to the actual birth date of our Savior and many will say that the 25th of December is not it. Whatever the date may be I am just thankful that He was indeed made flesh and dwelt among us. Christians know that Christ's existence did not begin the day he was born of the Virgin Mary and we are just glad that a day has been set aside in the world to observe the fact that he did truly come. No matter what pagan practices may have been played out centuries ago surrounding this date Christians do not reflect on these practices, we reflect on Jesus and he is at the heart of our celebration. We joy in the fact that our Savior came into the world in bodily form to save his people. Although Christians decorate their homes for the pure pleasure of the beauty of the season, Jesus is who we worship, not the brightly colored decorations, the tree, nor the Nativity scenes.

If our focus was kept on this fact the Holidays could be carried out smoother with less chaos and confusion. There is nothing wrong with giving in the name of love and in the spirit of the season but we shouldn't become stressed out or consumed with competing to out buy or out give another. When we give in the name of love it is not suppose to be of the demands of another's request necessarily. We give what we can, then it doesn't becomes a burden of meeting a quota or a specific request of another. There is nothing wrong with trying to find out what another likes and acting upon information found to please them even more, if we are in the position to do so but if we are not we can just give what is within our allowance. You don't always have to give a expensive store bought gift to show someone you care, you can give them the gift of more of your time, love, and understanding. Sometimes the simply things mean more than you think. Just reflect on the great gift the Father in Heaven gave us, it wasn't a gift bought in the store, wrapped in pretty paper with a bow on it costing hundreds of dollars.

He gave us a "Love" gift, his Son, which to many is PRICELESS. Let's teach our children and grandchildren the true reflection of the 25th of December, they will grow up to appreciate receiving gifts that much more, whatever the gift may be. They will in turn pass on this legacy to generations to come after them. I know you may think its hard because of what they as kids may see going on around them but its not, this is why the word of God says, "Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is older he will not depart from it." It begins with us. Simplify the Holiday, celebrate the Savior.

Deborah Dudley is our October Woman in the Spotlight

This months woman in the spotlight is a Kingdom Builder. She is a wife, mother, grandmother, and a minister of the Gospel. She is a mother to many that God has seen fit to bring into her life who bless her in ways, she quotes, too numerous to name. Her name is Deborah Dudley and she is the Founder and Hostess of the TV Ministry Gospel Gems Inc. Deborah uses her ministry to reach others minus the walls of a church building. God uses her to encourage, motivate, inspire, and stir up the gift that is in His people. She is truly a mom working for the Kingdom. We are happy to spotlight Mrs. Dudley and her ministry in this interview.

W2W: Deborah, thank you for granting us this interview. Please share with our readers a little bit about yourself.

Deborah: God Bless and thank you for this opportunity. I am so honored, to have been asked. First and foremost I am a child of God, I love him with my whole heart ,soul and body. I am a wife, mother of four, grandmother of four, sister, friend to all in need, encourager, motivator, and love to inspire everybody with words of wisdom and knowledge that comes from God. I am a Hostess and Founder of a television ministry called Gospel Gems which has aired since May of 2000. God is good!!! I co-Pastor along with my husband, Pastor Alphonso E.Dudley,Sr. I wouldn't trade this life for anything. I love God and His people!!!!!!!

W2W: When did you first sense a call into ministry and how did you go about pursuing?

Deborah: I knew that God was calling me into ministry, He was constantly speaking to me, but I continued to pray, prepare before going forth as I knew that God had some special things that He desired to deposit into my spirit before going on the battlefield. I continue to work along side of my husband,study,fast and had an hear for everything that God was saying. I not only listened intently to God's voice, I heard him as well. This is a sure calling.

W2W: Describe the focus of your ministry.

Deborah: The focus of the work that the Lord has called me to, is to stir up the gift that often times is lying dormant in the hearts and souls of men and women. Many of times people need confidence not in themselves ,but in God, to know that he is faithful and able to carry them through. We need to know without a doubt that God is calling us to an abundant life, that is full of victory, not defeat ! To often we walk around in defeat not knowing that Jesus died that we might walk a more excellent walk. If we would only believe the word of God, many times we quote the scripture, but we live far beneath them.

W2W: What words of encouragement do you offer to other women who are answering God’s call to ministry?

Deborah: First of all be sure of your calling. After you are convinced that the Lord is calling ,take some time to devote yourself totally to God. If you are married talk to your spouse about the new direction, God is calling you to. Do not fail to talk with your Pastor, as he or she will give you further counseling. Let God lead you as you want to make sure that your steps are being completely ordered by God, we are all individuals, it is alright to admire, but never copy another. Just be the best you that you can be for God. I want to add this, if you are considering marriage, please make sure that your future husband can handle your gift. Some men are intimidated by a strong women, and you will later resent him if he tries to silence or lessen the gift that you are carrying. Be sure to pray carefully about this.

W2W: Deborah, how do you balance Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and Minister of the Gospel?

Deborah: I have always been a helpmate to my husband which was very important. With that being said, I always knew that was more purpose for my life than being a wife and mother, although I considered these to be very important roles, I had to learn to balance my life. I always had some time for my husband and children, but always knew in order to function properly, I had to find a way to have some "me "time. Of course we both cherish our grandbabies. My husband has been and continues to be supportive of what God is calling me to too. This is called teamwork. Being the mother of four children, I had to wait to do some things until they were older, I was always active in the church, but I made time for their daily needs, we never want to look back and wish we had been more attentive to the needs of our children. Women we must always remember that when we have children, we will never have the time that our sisters have, who have not yet married or have children. There is good news, our children will not always be babies, whatever God have destined for your life when we are led by the Spirit it will always work out, all things work for the good of them that love God and are called according to His purpose!

W2W: Any advice for those struggling with making change in their lives who feel like they are bound by the enemy but seek to be delivered by God?

Deborah: Know first that God loves you, and that he has already made a way of escape for you. Secondly make sure that your life is lined up with the word and that you are doing all that you know to do. The third point is this, learn the true value of patiently waiting on God ,this too will pass. God will destroy all yokes. My favorite quote is this,” Blossom Where You Are", wherever you are in life God already knows, and He is there. You don't have until the battle is over shout now. Call those things that aren't as though they already are.

W2W: In closing dear sister will you leave us with a Bible verse or two that God has placed on your heart?

Deborah: Jeremiah 29-11 states this- For I know the thoughts that I think toward you,saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not evil, to give you an expected end. Therefore it doesn't matter what anybody else think about it, God has the final say and He is still in charge of our lives!!!!!!!!

Let's look at Philippians 1-6--Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ. So wherever you are in life or what is going on, you’re going to make it, God is more than able. Study the word of God daily ,for this is where our strength comes from. As we study them we are empowered to walk in total victory.

For over a decade, she has been a student of simplicity—learning to declutter her own life and helping others to do the same. Through her speaking and writing, she fulfils her dream of inspiring women to give God the best they have to offer. She is the the Editor of Counting the Cost, a newsletter and website dedicated to simple and abundant living. Her Name is Nancy Twigg. Nancy is no stranger to Woman2Woman she has been submitting attention grabbing articles to us for the past few months. She is also the author of three books, From Clutter to Clarity: Simplifying Life from the Inside Out; Celebrate Simply: Your Guide to Simpler, More Meaningful Holidays and Special Occasions; and A Month of Mites: 31 Devotionals on Simple Christian Living.

Nancy says she and her family enjoy the simple pleasures in life like, ice cream cones, picnics, and Saturday morning yard sales. A perfect day for Nancy includes quiet time with a cup of tea, an early morning jog, an afternoon nap, and at least one piece of chocolate before bed. W2W: Welcome Nancy, and thank you for granting us this interview. Please share with us a little bit about yourself.

Nancy: This shouldn’t take long, because I am actually a pretty simple person. J I am an author, speaker, freelance writer, helper to my husband in his business, and a home schooling mom. Although these pursuits keep me busy, my goal is to embrace simplicity in all areas of my life. I love exercising, bargain shopping, and soaking in a hot bath. My idea of a perfect day includes quiet time with a cup of tea, an early morning jog, an afternoon nap, and at least one piece of chocolate before bed. I live with my husband Michael and daughter Lydia Grace in Knoxville, Tennessee.

W2W: What has been your motivation and inspiration all these years to write and publicly speak to women?

Nancy: I have a passion for seeing women set free from clutter that keeps them from being the women God intended them to be. Through my speaking and writing, God allows me to fulfill my dream of inspiring women to give God the best they have to offer.

W2W: With the holidays just around the corner it brings to mind your first book, Celebrate Simply. Will you share with us a little bit about your book and how the information you provided can help us simplify things in the coming season.

Nancy: Celebrate Simply is basically a guide to making holidays and special occasions what you really want them to be: low-cost, low-stress yet highly meaningful and memorable. The book is packed with ideas and inspiration to help you create holiday celebrations that leave you overjoyed, instead of overworked and overwhelmed.

W2W: With three books to your credit, the other two being, From Clutter to Clarity and A Month of Mites: 31 Devotionals on Simple Christian Living. Can we expect another book from you soon?

Nancy: I’ve been asking God the same question myself recently. J For the past several years, I thought God’s plan for me was to continue devoting my time and energy to my writing and speaking ministry. I actually began work on a devotional book for young mothers, but it seems God is leading me in an entirely different direction in my life. I am not sure where this new direction will lead, but I am excited about the possibilities.

W2W: In our daily walk with God trials and tribulations will come but thanks be to him we have Jesus to lean upon. Which scriptures do you draw strength from during times such as these?

Nancy: One of my favorites is II Corinthians 2:14: But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumphal procession in Christ and through us spreads everywhere the fragrance of the knowledge of him. I love that word “always”! Even when we can’t see the final outcome or we don’t feel victorious at the moment, we can trust that He always leads us in triumph. Not only is He leading us to victory, but He uses our lives—with all their challenges and hardships—to spread the sweet fragrance of His love to others.

Another favorite is Isaiah 49:15: "Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget, I will not forget you!” This verse holds special meaning because my years of breastfeeding Lydia are very special memories for me. This verse reminds me that as much as I love Lydia, God loves me even more. And just as I could never forget Lydia or ignore her needs, God will never forget me or forsake me during my time of need.

W2W: What can we be in prayer about for you for in 2008?

Nancy: It looks as though God is calling me into ordained ministry. That most likely would include going to seminary. The thought of trying to juggle the demands of school along with all the other demands of my life is scary. Please pray that God will show me the way to be faithful to all the areas of responsibility to which He has called me.

W2W: In closing, do you have any final thoughts to share with our readers?

Nancy: My motto (and for my ministry) in life is “K.I.S.S. – Keep It Simple, Sister!” When things get crazy, this mantra helps me to tune out the static and stay focused on what’s most important.

This months woman in the spotlight is a native of Shreveport, Louisiana who now resides in now resides in Atlanta, Georgia. She has been described as one of the most prolific speakers of all times. She speaks with passion, compassion, authority and simplicity. Moving people into their greatness is her purpose and speaking is her platform. Her name is Latrina L. Johnson and she is CEO of S.A.M (Speaking Above Mediocrity), LLC and Author of Change your Life By Changing Your Mind.

Latrina is the author of Change your life by Changing you mind. She wants to give to you the tools to make your dreams a reality. God has qualified her to be a culprit to significantly enhance your life. She believes success first starts in your mind and not to let your greatest thought cause you to be an underachiever. I recently had the
pleasure of interviewing this dynamic motivational speaker and am happy to be able to share a little about her with you.

W2W: Latrina you are a well sought after Motivational Speaker. What tools do you share with others during your speaking engagements that you feel will help them be successful at seeing positive change in their lives?

Latrina: First have a positive attitude believing you can have the desires of your heart. Every manifested action is first a thought in your mind. Channel your mind on positivity and productivity.

Second Immediately eliminate all negative persons in your life. Negative people speak negative words and actions into your life aborting your dreams. Don't allow assassins to be in your circle of friends.

Third Appreciate every moment that you're alive. This is a unique gift from God allowing you the opportunity to create a life filled with success and joy. Have a sense of gratitude.

W2W: Do you have any words of advice to share with women who may have been given a vision from God, yet have not had the privilege of seeing it fulfilled in their lives?

Latrina: "Write the vision make it plain, though it tarry it will surely come" FIGHT! Don't ever give up on the vision God has given you. Keep trying. All successful people fail before they become a success. Failure is the opportunity to perfect your vision. It will happen if you continue to press forward despite your trials. Life happens to us all. It's how you handle life occurrences that will determine a life of defeat or one of victory.

W2W: When I read your story it made me think of a phrase I often hear, "what satan meant for evil, God can use for good. Such in your case when your life took a surprising turn on July 27, 2006 when you came face to face with a gunman while at work who forced you into a secluded room. God spared your life for a reason, will you share with our readers how that traumatic experience changed your life.

Latrina: I live each day as if it is my last, because it just might be. I love sooo much deeper, faster and I forgive all offenses. To have your life literally weighed in the balance is truly life altering. I give of myself liberally. I live life with a sense of urgency to get "it" done. My time on this earth will expire and I want to make sure I lived. I do not want to go to my grave with my gifts, talents and anointing still buried deep inside me.

W2W: You are author of the book "Changing your Life by Changing your Mind", tell us a little bit about it.

Latrina: This is an awesome book! This book will uproot thoughts of degradation, complacency, laziness, fear and doubt then replace them with thoughts of upward mobility, optimism, urgency, relentlessness, strategies, purpose and determination. This book will teach you the power of your thoughts! Most importantly this book will teach you how to discover your purpose and how to manifest it.

W2W: Latrina what’s next on your agenda? Do you have more books coming out?

Latrina: Right now I am mentoring/ coaching individuals as well as groups on how to have a fulfilling life based on spiritual principles. Also I have studied 4 couples over 25 years learning what it takes to make a marriage successful. Each couple has been married for at least 30 years allowing me the privilege with great insight to coach others on how to maintain a wonderful and happy marriage.

I am also working on my next book that will teach how to make a marriage last and the importance of marriage.

W2W: What would you say to young women today who feels called into ministry?

Latrina: Allow God's manifested glory to be revealed through you, it is your reasonable duty. If it wasn't for God, you wouldn't be here.

W2W: In closing what can we be in prayer for your for Latrina?

Latrina: Pray that I always walk in obedience according to God's word.

Crystal Brown-Tatum is our woman in the spotlight

This months woman in the spotlight is a wife, a mother, and a native of San Antonio. She is a multi-hat wearing business woman. She is the CEO and President of Crystal Clear Communications- a Houston based advertising agency and public relations firm with a second office in Louisiana. She is a Honors College graduate of The University of Houston with a B.A. in Radio-Television, an accomplished journalist and has appeared on several local radio and television shows as well having had more than 500 editorials published including work featured in Vogue, People, Self, Shape, Washington Weekly, Building Edge magazine, The Capitol Times, Today’s Christian Woman, The San Antonio Informer and The Houston Chronicle. She is also the author of three poetry books and a nationally published fiction novel, “Caramel and Cream” and Saltwater Taffy and Red High Heels: My Journey through Breast Cancer.

Her name is Crystal Brown-Tatum and she is a breast cancer survivor. In April 2007 she was diagnosed with stage IIIA breast cancer. Crystal is a breast cancer survival. Back in March of this year Crystal submitted an article to us here at the Woman2Woman Lounge about her breast cancer and we were more than happy to immediately publish it, for we knew it would be encouraging to those who might have experienced or were going through the same ordeal as Crystal had endured. This is one of the reasons why I re-connected with Crystal in hopes that she would share yet more of her story of survival with us in an interview to further educate, encourage, and inspire others in the same situation. Jessie Green is this weeks woman in the spotlight

This weeks woman in the spotlight is a true miracle walking. She is a mother of two from Florida. In 1997 She was in a near fatal car accident and the doctors gave her a 1% chance of survival. She said God didn’t give up on her because he wasn’t through with her yet.

Her name is Jessie Greene and she considers herself a LIVING TESTIMONY. Although her near fatal accident was 11 years ago Jessie feels its time to tell her story and I am glad she agreed to share her testimony here with us at the Woman2Woman Lounge. I was so excited and truly looking forward to conducting this interview because I wanted those who come through and read the interviews on our website to read hers and see for themselves what God is doing in the lives of others. He is still in the miracle working business and remains full of wonder working power. I thank God for Jessie Greene and that she is still with us and able to share her story. I pray it will give others hope, increased faith, and show us the continued Mercy, Grace, and Love the Father bestows upon us.

W2W: Jessie thank you for agreeing to this interview with me, please share with our readers what happened to you on April 28, 1997.

Jessie: I was in a severe car accident on April 28, 1997 to the point of death at the ripe age of 23 and some of the information I am sharing with you aren't actual events that I remember because I suffered a severe case of amnesia. I learned from the accident report that I was supposedly traveling at a high rate of speed of 100mph in a 1997 Maxima while it was raining. The report said that I lost control of the car and was ejected through the windshield. I was airlifted to O.R.M.C being that I sustained a severe head injury and multiple orthopedic injuries. I broke the radius in my right arm, the radius and ulna in my left arm and I broke the femur in my right leg which of course is one of the biggest bones in the body being that it connects the hip and knee together. The trauma that I sustained to my head caused me to lapse into a coma for 27 days. The medical report said that the coma score was a 10 then it dropped down to a level 3 which medically is the lowest score coma a person can be in and survive without being a vegetable. I was transported to Sandlake Rehabilitative Hospital a little after I woke out of the coma because I had a lot of therapy that I had to go through. I can remember waking up in the hospital bed at Sandlake, not knowing what had happened to me I felt this bulky thing between my legs and when I pulled the sheet back I realized that it was a Depends diaper. I then buzzed the nurse because I was confused and wondering why I had this thing on and the nurse then informed me of the accident and that I had on a catheter during my stay at O.R.M.C. Wow, and did I mention the fact of every time I wanted to take a shower I had to buzz the nurse. I was basically a 23 year old handicap that had 2 children who I didn't even remember. I have to tell my story because God has truly been good to me and I want to share my testimony with those who may be going through hard times and don't know how you're going to make it. God is faithful and He will see you through every time. See, the doctors [[MAN]] gave me a 1% chance of living and they told my family that if I came out of the coma I would be brain dead...But look at me now!!!! GOD DIDN'T GIVE UP ON ME CAUSE HE WASN'T THROUGH WITH ME YET!!!!!!!

W2W: After your accident what was your daily recovery like?

Jessie: Well, I don't remember my stay at the first hospital I was at but when I was at the Rehabilitative Hospital I had to go thru extensive therapy learning how to walk again and just how to go about life. I was very depressed and wanted to give up so many times to the point I use to question God all the time asking him why didn't he just let me die because I felt so useless at that time.

W2W: Coming back from a traumatic accident such as yours had to give you a whole new appreciation for life, family, and increased your gratitude toward God. Share with us how this affected your faith.

Jessie: WOW! Well for me it was a daily struggle being that I didn't really have any support from my immediate family. I mean my mom and dad were arguing over who I was going to live with once I was released from the hospital being that I couldn't live on my own with my mental state being the way it was at that time. It was a very trying time for me and like I stated earlier I just wanted to give up and die because I felt there was no reason for me living. To be completely honest with you, it was because of what God has already imparted on the inside of me that wouldn't allow me to just give up and die. I had my 2 children at the time to support so I needed to hold on for their sake.

W2W: What scriptures or psalms give you strength?

Jessie: The day I really thought about committing suicide, I was sitting on the edge of the bed and I heard a voice as clear as day that said, "Just take ALL your pain pills and sleep" then I heard another voice that said...."Read Job 3:10". In that particular scripture Job is cursing the day he was born because he was enduring so much heartache and pain the exact same way I was feeling but I felt in my spirit God was letting me know that he understood and he was right there by my side. I also find strength in Psalms 25 & 27.

W2W: What is God presently doing in your life?

Jessie: Right now God has me in that quiet place in HIM. I'm drawing nigh to him so I can fulfill my purpose and spring forth in the ministry He's called me into.

W2W: What are some of your hopes for the future?

Jessie: My hopes for the future is fulfilling Gods will for my life and touching the lives of many worldwide with my testimony.

W2W: What words of encouragement do you have for others who might be going through a difficult period in their lives?

Jessie: No matter what your situation looks like have faith in God and know that he will see you through even though you may not see it or feel it just trust and have faith.

W2W: In closing my sister how can we be in prayer for you?

Jessie: Just pray my strength in the Lord. Pray for me and my children that the Lord will continue to keep us and bless us according to His riches in glory.

Reginia Cotton is this weeks woman in our sportlight

Our woman in the spotlight this week is an encourager, motivator, and a leader. She has a true love for God and His people and a never-ending desire to impact the lives of other women. She is a graduate of Nova Southeastern University in Orlando, FL where she earned a B.S. degree in Business Administration and is currently pursuing a Masters of Business Administration degree from the same university.

Her name is Reginia Cotton and she is CEO / President of He ChoZe Me! where she is a motivational / inspirational speaker & mentor for women. He ChoZe Me! is designed to empower, enhance and encourage. She is also a youth mentor and a youth leader at Redeeming Light Center Church of Eatonville, FL, under the leadership of Pastors Thomas & Beverly Brown and the Director for Empowered4Life! Youth Mentoring & Leadership Development Program for ages 13-18. Her passion for the heart of women and young teen girls compels her to take this leap of faith and lean on God’s infinite wisdom through prayer and faith. Having dealt with abandonment, rejection, disappointment and abuse she rose up against all odds and moved forward in the spirit of excellence.

Reginia proudly proclaims that she is not what she use to be and that she is continuing to progress forward in the spirit of excellence. I had the pleasure of interviewing Ms. Cotton recently and happy to share with you our readers another inspiring interview with a gracious woman in ministry.

W2W: Reginia what motivated you to start HE ChoZE ME!?

Reginia: God actually gave me the motivation to start He ChoZe Me! I reflected back over my life and considered some of the trials I've had to face and a lot of it had to do with heartache and the desire to be and feel loved. As women we need that sisterhood and the feeling of oneness to help motivate, inspire, and empower us to continue pressing forward in the things that we desire to do. I didn't have that growing up and I don't want to pass up the opportunity to pour into the lives of other women, regardless of their background or walk of life in which one has had to travel. I can tell you, Sherri, I've definitely walked some miles in this journey. Then I realized that God chose me, according to Jeremiah 1:5.

W2W: With teens today facing so many temptations, dealing with different pressures and influences in the world, what is the most important thing you try to teach them about dealing with life in general?

Reginia: One thing I try to convey to teens is the fact that they have the ability to make good sound choices. We have choices in everything we do. Sometimes we are not responsible for the hand we're dealt but we have the choice to rise above situations in spite of what's before us. Young people (teens) should know that it's ok to not be the "norm". Most importantly, if they were to consider the consequence of an action, they may re-consider the course of action that is before them. Also, when having made an unwise decision, ALWAYS take something out of the situation as a memorial stone and learn from it. Let it be a reminder that you've been in that place before and to not go back to it again.

W2W: How did you rise above your circumstances and moved forward in the spirit of excellence?

Reginia: Wow! I wouldn't know where to begin answering this question! Prayer, prayer, and more prayer is what helped me rise above many trials I've had to face and still facing in life. I had to remind myself of the promises of God and trust Him. God is a faithful God! I couldn't have made it through without the love, support, and encouragement of my dear friends. I have some of the best friends that anyone gal can have! :-) I have to press through because when another "Regina" comes my way I have to be able to share with her how I made it over. As Marvin Sapp so eloquently says, "I'm stronger, I'm wiser, I'm better...so much better. When I LOOK back..." Sherri, I realize when I look back on a storm I then realize that I made it through. Praise the Lord!

W2W: What scriptures do you draw strength from daily?

Reginia: The Word of God is something powerful!! One of my favorite scriptures is Ephesians 3:20 "Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly ABOVE ALL that we think or ask according to the POWER that works within us". Thank you, Jesus! When I need to go to my safe haven from all the noise and spiritual warfare I go to Psalm 91. When I need to lie down in the green meadows I go to Psalm 23. When I need to be reminded of God's love I go to John 3:16. When I need to be reminded that no matter how bad the situation is God can turn it around I go to Romans 8:28 & Phil 4:13. When I dare to praise my way through a situation I go and read Psalm 105 and consider the words of David who never failed to exalt the Lord. Sherri, I love the love Letter that God left for His people and His Word continues to fall fresh on me every time I open the Letter to read it.

W2W: Besides the Holy Bible, the book our Heavenly Father is the author of, what books would you recommend for reading?

Reginia: One of my favorite Christian authors would be Elizabeth George. She wrote A Woman After God's Own Heart. If one desires to draw nearer to Him this is an awesome book. Also, Stormie Omartian who wrote Power of a Praying Wife. I'm currently reading Bishop T. D. Jakes, Reposition Yourself. These authors and many others have really written some awesome books that can assist in keeping you grounded in this walk with Christ. I pray to one day be among them with a #1 best seller!

W2W: Reginia please share your testimony of faith with us.

Reginia: As I stated earlier, God chose me at an early age of 11. I fell in love with Christ when I was a little girl. I grew up in a Baptist church in Faunsdale, Alabama. Yes, it was pure country. LOL! But nevertheless, I met Christ and we've been walking ever since. Sometimes I would take a different route but His navigation system (the Holy Spirit) always alerted me and I was back on track. God has spared my life and use His rod of correction to mold me and continue to design me for His glory. I believe because His word pierces my heart and He gives me a hope beyond what I can see. Paul says that if we hope for what we see then its not really hope. Jesus is an expressionless wonder in my life, meaning I can't find the words that would adequately describe or display who He is to me. I've tried the party and drinking when I was younger and one day I realized that is not the life I wanted to live and one night I called my former pastor crying uncontrollably and re-dedicated my life fully to the Lord and shall we say, "the story continues..."

W2W: In closing, how can we, your sisters, be in prayer for you?

Reginia: My prayer is that God will grant me wisdom and understanding as I "seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you" Matt 6:33. Also, that there would be a manifestation of His Spirit poured out among His people and that I remain a humble servant of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Myanmar state radio says cyclone death toll soars

YANGON, Myanmar - The death toll from the cyclone that battered Myanmar last weekend has risen above 22,000, state radio has reported.

A news broadcast on government-run radio said Tuesday that 22,464 people have now been confirmed dead from Cyclone Nargis, which tore through the country's heartland and biggest city of Yangon early Saturday.

The broadcast added that thousands more are missing.

Relief efforts for the stricken area, mostly in the low-lying Irrawaddy River delta, have been difficult, in large part because of the destruction of roads and communications outlets by the storm. The first assistance from overseas arrived Tuesday from neighboring Thailand.

Officials had said today that the toll could continue to climb higher than the 14,000 already feared dead from the Southeast Asian nation's devastating cyclone as the international community prepared to rush in aid.

In the aftermath of Cyclone Nargis, state radio reported that the government was delaying a constitutional referendum in areas hit hardest.

Myanmar's Information Minister Maj. Gen. Kyaw Hsan confirmed at a news conference that some 4,000 people had died in Yangon and the low-lying Irrawaddy delta region. He added that another 10,000 people could be dead in the delta.

Kyaw said tidal waves killed most of the victims in that region.

Earlier, Foreign Minister Nyan Win was quoted by state-run television as saying that more than 10,000 people had perished in Irrawaddy while a smaller number died in and around Yangon, the country's largest city.

"News and data are still being collected, so there may be many more casualties," he said.

It was not known why the two ministers presented different death tolls.

The World Food Program, which was preparing to fly in food, added its own grim assessment of the destruction: Up to 1 million people may be homeless, some villages have been almost totally eradicated and vast rice-growing areas are wiped out.

A state television report gave two different numbers — 59 and 130 — for the dead in what is known as Yangon division. It did not explain the differing tolls.

The country's ruling junta, which has spurned the international community for decades, urgently appealed for foreign aid at a meeting Nyan Win held with diplomats Monday in Yangon.

The U.N.'s emergency relief coordinator said Tuesday the government had indicated it was ready to start accepting international aid. The U.N., Red Cross and other aid organizations have been organizing supplies in preparation for shipping them to the country.

Some aid agencies reported their assessment teams had reached some areas of the largely isolated region but said getting in supplies and large numbers of aid workers would be difficult.

A military transport plane flew from Bangkok to Yangon Tuesday with emergency aid from Thailand while a number of other countries and organizations said they were prepared to follow.

Richard Horsey, Bangkok-based spokesman for the U.N. Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Aid, said Yangon's airport is the closest to the region hardest hit.

"For those places accessible by land, there will be cars and trucks from those areas to meet at the halfway point with vehicles from Yangon," he said. "For remote areas, assessment teams and assistance teams will need to go by helicopters and boats."

The delta is riddled with waterways but Horsey said they are not easily accessible, even during normal times.

Based on a satellite map made available by the United Nations, the storm's damage was concentrated over about a 11,600-square-mile (30,000-square-kilometer) area along the Andaman Sea and Gulf of Martaban coastlines — less than 5 percent of the country.

But the affected region is home to nearly a quarter of Myanmar's 57 million people.

Images from state television showed large trees and electricity poles sprawled across roads and roofless houses ringed by large sheets of water in the delta region, which is regarded as Myanmar's rice bowl.

"More or less all the landlines are down and it's extremely difficult to get information from cyclone-affected areas. But from the reports we are getting, entire villages have been flattened and the final death toll may be huge," said Mac Pieczowski, who heads the International Organization for Migration office in Yangon, in a statement.

State radio reported Saturday's vote on a draft constitution would be delayed until May 24 in 40 townships around Yangon and seven in the Irrawaddy delta, which bore the brunt of the killer storm.

It indicated that in other areas the balloting would proceed as scheduled.

The appeal for assistance was unusual for Myanmar's ruling generals, who have long been suspicious of the international organizations and have closely controlled their activities.

Foreign governments were poised Tuesday to rush aid to the devastated nation.

The United States, which has slapped economic sanctions on the country, said it likewise stood ready. The U.S. Embassy is providing $250,000 in immediate aid from existing emergency fund. But first lady Laura Bush said Monday the U.S. would provide further aid only if one of its own disaster teams is allowed into the country.

The European Commission was providing $3 million in humanitarian aid while the president of neighboring China, Hu Jintao, promised $1 million in cash and supplies.

The government had apparently taken few efforts to prepare for the storm, which came bearing down on the country from the Bay of Bengal late Friday. Weather warnings broadcast on television would have been largely useless for the worst-hit rural areas where electricity supply is spotty and television a rarity.

"The government misled people," said Thin Thin, a grocery story owner in Yangon. "They could have warned us about the severity of the coming cyclone so we could be better prepared."

Yangon was without electricity except where gas-fed generators were available and residents lined up to buy candles, which have doubled in price since the storm hit. Most homes were without water, forcing families to stand in long lines for drinking water and bathe in the city's lakes.

Most telephone landlines appeared to be restored by late Monday, but mobile phones and Internet connections were down.

Some in Yangon complained that the 400,000-strong military was only clearing streets where the ruling elite resided but leaving residents, including Buddhist monks, to cope on their own in most other areas.

Myanmar has been under military rule since 1962. Its government has been widely criticized for suppression of pro-democracy parties such as the one led by Nobel Peace Prize laureate Aung San Suu Kyi, who has been under house arrest for almost 12 of the past 18 years.

At least 31 people were killed and thousands more were detained when the military cracked down on peaceful protests in September led by Buddhist monks and democracy advocates.

She is a highly sought-after speaker for organizations, churches, and schools. Her ministry is a ministry of healing. She is an advocate for individuals suffering from the effects of child sexual abuse. Her name is Stephanie L. Jones and she is the author of the book
“The Enemy Between My Legs”.

In her book Stephanie shares her story with the world on how she was able to overcome the effects of over seven years of child sexual abuse, which began at age five. Being a victim herself she has the ability to understand and connect with other abuse victims, especially teenagers and young adults. Her book will set victims of sexual abuse free. Our woman in the spotlight this week is a writer, author, advocate, proud mother of two, and a true survivor. She survived ten years in foster care, overcame teenage pregnancy and homelessness. Society deemed her destined for failure but she defied the odds and came out a true victor.

She is a native of Houston, Texas and her name is Arlether Walker. After having to drop out of high School in 1985 because of pregnancy, and later surviving the divorce of her five year marriage in 1992 she applied and was accepted into the police academy and graduated number one in her class. Three years later she was promoted to sergeant and later excelled to the rank of captain. In 1998 she was honored as “Officer of the Year” and later earned several congressional commendations.

I had cancer on my wedding day

Have you ever thought you were "all that?" Untouchable? Invincible? On top of the world? That's how I felt on my wedding day. I was a successful single mother and Houston entrepreneur with several major awards under my belt, an Ebony magazine top bachelorette and had reconnected with my college sweetheart after a sixteen year hiatus. Yes, I was finally getting married after a string of painful relationships at the age of 35.

As I flip through my wedding album, all of the details are a blur. I
don't notice the flowers or the detailed cake. What I cherish is the
genuine smile on my face which reflects the love in my heart for so
many things- life, my husband, my daughter, my family and friends.
Dazzling in my strapless wedding gown, little did I know I had breast
cancer. Ironic isn't it? I look so happy while cancer was dwelling
inside me.

This weeks woman in the spotlight is a mother and grandmother from New Orleans, LA presently living in Jonesboro, GA. She has been enjoying her life since she retired from her Job in January. She is also the author of the book, Special Creation " A Psalmody of Encouragement. Her name is Irma White. In 1991 Irma had a life-changing experience that set her on the path she believes God ordained for her before the foundation of the earth. Although she grew up hearing about Jesus, she did not know Him nor the vital necessity of reading and meditating on the Holy Scriptures. Until that experience Irma says she lived a very mediocre life and didn’t know how to change it. But, after reading one scripture verse in a devotional, her life began to change. She grew thirsty for the things of God and began to seek out God’s truths in His Word.

Having great self-confidence or a high self-esteem will help in just about every area of your life. You were not born with self-confidence or high self-esteem - these you develop over the years. Self-confidence is trusting that you have what it takes, to handle whatever happens. You feel sure of yourself and enjoy trying new things, without letting doubts or fears hold you back. When you have confidence in others, you rely on them.
Being constantly criticized by others tends to slowly strip you of our feelings of self worth. Your low self esteem strips you of your self confidence to make even the smallest of decisions. You begin think little of yourself, and feel you do not deserve to be happy.

Don't always try to please others. It is considerate to care about others' feelings but your needs are important also. Do not try to be like someone else either. You will be at your best when you are being yourself because of your uniqueness. Strive to be your best, but do not criticize yourself if you fall short of your expectations.

God is speaking!

Are you Listening?

God speaks to us through his Holy Word and he is trying to reach many of us today. Do you believe on the Lord Jesus Christ? Have you accepted his invite to come into your heart? The Bible says Jesus is knocking at the door of your heart and anyone who opens the door and lets him in he will come and sup with them. (Revelation 3:20)

Time is drawing near to the return of Christ, Jesus, our Savior, and Lord. The Biblical signs point toward his coming being near but none of us know when our last moment on earth will be individually. Your life could cease in an instant, if so will you stand before God blameless or guilty? The Bible says like in the days of Noah so shall the coming of the son of man be. The Bible says everyone after Adam was born into sin and stand guilty before him. The Bible also says that no righteousness lies within us of our own accord, it says all our righteousness is like filthy rags. (Isaiah 64:6) Jesus is righteousness. (Romans 5:17-19)

The Bible says the wages of sin is death. Sin=death! How shall I take care of my sin debt so that I can live you ask? God speaks through his word to answer that question, "My Son, Jesus"

Le me show you the scriptures......

Romans 5:8--But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Christ paid for our sins.....He gave his life for ours...

1 Peter 3:18--For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:

Matthew 20:28--Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.

Ephesians 5:2--And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet smelling savour.

You may be saying why? Answer, because he loves us....

At Christmastime we delight in the gifts we receive.....but the ultimate unsurpassable gift we can ever receive comes from God, the Father, through his Son, Jesus, and that is ETERNAL LIFE. This gift can only come from him by GRACE.

For by grace we are saved, as a result of our faith, and that it is the GIFT of God, not of the result of works you have done, so man his NO room to boast about salvation whatsoever. (Ephesians 2:8-9)

If you have already received the gift because of your faith in Jesus then you know of the Joy that the saints of God have and that are found in these scriptures. Those of us that believe in Christ hath no fear of the end coming because we know we will stand before God blameless, not as a result of anything we have done but all because of what the SAVIOR CHRIST JESUS HAS!

If you have not believed or the Lord Jesus and take your last breath and leave this earth in the physical you will be defenseless before the Father and will be judged for your unwillingness to accept his Son Jesus. (Revelation 20:11-15)

I encourage you, if you have not already, to seek Truth, Jesus is TRUTH, the word of God says "He is the way, the truth and the life; and that no man comes unto the Father but through him, so you see there is no other way to even connect with God, the Father, but through Jesus. It doesn't matter how man wants to say is the way, the only thing that matters is how the Father has shown us which way is the right way. (John 4:16)

The Bible says whosoever believes on Jesus shall be saved.....this was his reason for coming......

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved....John 3:16-17

No time to procrastinate in 2008!

No time for sleeping when there is work to be done. We have moved forward into a New Year with a greater opportunity to enhance and improve our businesses. No time to be idol, every second counts. The more time you waste the next person is already gaining steps ahead of you. In today's business market there is a lot of competition out there and each business owner is claiming their business service or product is the best. Competition is getting stiffer and stiffer. No room to procrastinate in 2008 is my motto. We have to get moving and sharpen our marketing and public speaking skills. Bottom line you will not be noticed if you stay invisible. You have to put yourself out there so people will know who you are, what you do, and where to find you when needed. If you don’t have a website then I suggest you create one for yourself and your business, if you already have one now would be the time in the beginning of our new year to go over it like a fine tooth comb and make sure its sharp, perhaps even give it a new look for the new year. People pay attention to every detail now days. Consumers are looking for the most they can get for their dollars. They want professionalism not peanuts.

Cover all your basis make sure you keep business cards on hand at all times and be sure to keep them in active circulation. Hand them out individually, leave them places locally in your neighborhood like mini markets, banks, post offices, laundromats, and your local library, most of these places have bulletin boards where customers can post ads, leave flyers, or business cards. It would even be a good investment to get your business listed in the local business yellow pages in your city or state. Small ads in your weekly neighborhood reader could prove to be profitable and get your name and business on the lips of folks in your area. Networking and good advertising is essential to the growth of your business. The success of your business is what you make of it. If you put 50% into it then you will only see half of what it could possibly be, why not put your all into it and work at making it stand out from the rest. A New Year: New Beginnings

We are less than 48 hours away from a New Year. Many people make resolutions to change things in their lives. Out with the old and in with the new. What is it that you want to make sure that you do more of this year? What areas in your life do you want to see increase? I myself want to dedicate more of my time in the word of God and spreading the word of God be it through poetry or word of mouth to another. I want to spend more time worshiping our Lord and Savior Jesus the Christ, the giver of every good and perfect gift. As we enter the 2008 let us be thankful that the Lord has allowed us to see a New Year and we have a chance to present our bodies a living sacrifice unto him. Let us remember to give him honor glory and praise for all he does, all he has done, and all that he is going to do that we have yet to see manifested in our lives for the coming year. Advertising Made Easy!

Ok, so you’ve started a new home business or maybe you have an established business. One very important thing to do is advertise your business.

First, let’s talk about what the difference is between marketing and advertising. The definition of marketing is to make a communication about a product or service a purpose of which is to encourage recipients of the communication to purchase or use the product or service. The definition of advertising is a public promotion of some product or service.

So now that we have that cleared up, let’s look at some different ways to advertise your business.

First thing you should do is get business cards. You can get inexpensive business cards at Vistaprint. Business cards are very important to any business. Make sure to put your website, if you have one, on the card as well as your name and phone number.

Now that you have business cards, you need to utilize them. You can leave your card everywhere you go. Some ideas are bathrooms, table at a restaurant, leave one on the shelf in the baby section at the store, put them in your bills when you send them in for payment, give them to people that you are networking with, and give them to your children to give to there friends. I have also used my card to tell the teller what change I need at the drive thru. I have also left them in books at the library, on the tables or computer desks at the library, on the counter at the doctor’s office, and in magazines in waiting rooms. Let your imagination run wild with this.

Second thing you should do is to make up some flyers. You can leave your flyers on any public bulletin board. Some examples of this would be a bulletin board at the laundry mat, apartment complex, grocery store, work out center, and the mall. Flyers are also good for Mom Packs and to send out for direct mailings. Let your imagination run wild with this one as well.

The third thing you should do is on-line marketing. Of course, you should do on-line marketing if you have a website. But, you can do on-line marketing if you don’t have a website. It’s better if you have one, but that’s alright if you don’t. If you don’t have a website, you should at least have an e-mail address and you should leave a phone number. If you have a website, then you don’t need to leave an e-mail or phone number. Course, all of this depends on how you want people to contact you.

To do the advertising on-line, you can do a Google search for advertising. You can do free advertising or paid advertising. It’s up to you. I have found the paid advertising works better than free advertising, but it’s up to you. If your advertising budget doesn’t allow paid advertising right now, then you really should do the free advertising. No matter how much money you have to spend, you need to advertise. If you don’t advertise you don’t have people coming in. If you don’t have people coming in, you don’t make money. Some places that you can advertise are Ryze and message boards. Do the Google search and you will find many more places.

The last thing you need to do is networking. Networking is very important for any business. The definition of networking is using contacts made in business for purposes beyond the reason for the initial contact. For example, a sales representative may ask a customer for names of others who may be interested in his product. You can network through Ryze, the Chamber of Commerce mixers, and many other places. You should always network, wherever you go.

There are many more ideas for advertising your business. Use Google and people that you know. Success is as far as you make it out to be. Good luck and keep up the hard work! You can do it.

Keep Christ in Christmas

It’s almost that time of year again. Christmas is just about to dawn on the world in a few short weeks. A large number of people have decked their halls, began their Christmas shopping, and are making dinner plans for the upcoming last major family celebrated holiday of the year. Christmas is one of the two holiest holidays of the year where Christ is central focus, the other being the resurrection of Christ (Easter). Let us not let this holiday go by in a blur without remembering why we take a pause in life to reflect on the day Christ entered the world in bodily form.

Christmas is not about us, it’s about Jesus. It’s not about us getting, its about what the Father gave. He gave his only begotten Son, Jesus, so that all who believe in him could be redeemed and live eternally.

It's so easy, if not careful, to get caught up in the commercialism of Christmas with its glitter and glamour and abundance of material things available for the giving and the taking, but let us not forget about the greatest gift of all that was given, our Lord and Savior Jesus, the Christ.

Although we don’t know the exact day he was born, the world has set aside the 25th of December to observe his birth. On birthdays we give gifts to people we love. What will you give Christ on his birthday? We know we can't give him things hand in hand because he is not physically present with us, but we can give him things in spirit, like more of our time in worship, more of our time glorifying him, more time reading his word, praying, and being kind to others as he was, all the while wanting to go unnoticed and not expecting anything in return. Another thing we can do is not forget to share the good news with others about him and the reason why he was sent.

The existence of Jesus didn’t just began we he entered the world as a baby through the womb of his mother, Mary. He was there in the beginning, remember he said, “I am alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first, and the last. (Revelation 22:13) We can tell people of how he willing came knowing the destiny that awaited him 33 years down the line when he would willingly give his life a sacrifice for the sins of man.

What an amazing gift we were lovingly given by our Father in Heaven. (John 3:16) In closing this letter to you I thought of another thing we could give to our Savior on the day we remember the precious day he was born of a Virgin, we can give him yet again our thanks for his unselfishness in taking our place on the cross at Calvary.

Giving Thanks!

In Everything Give thanks for this is the will of God
for you in Christ Jesus! As we prepare to celebrate
Thanksgiving which after ushers in the celebration of
the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus, the Christ,
let us not forget to be thankful unto God each and
everyday for his many blessings. We all should be
grateful for the many blessings God bestows upon us
daily. God tells us in His Word to be thankful, and we
know from our own experience that once we seriously
start praising God, our burdens and troubles seem to
lighten to a weight that’s more easy to carry. We
should get into the habit of being thankful. When a
person does something nice for you, let him know you
appreciate it. We should meditate daily on things for
which we are thankful for such as food on our tables,
clothes on our backs, and homes that shelter us. I bet
if you grab a pen and a tablet you could make a list
that goes on and on of the things you can thank God
for, not just today but over the years as you look
back on your life.

As the holidays approach don't forget to reach out to
someone that may be alone this coming holiday season
who may be hurting because they have lost someone they
loved recently and might be feeling down.  A call, a
card, a letter, or a visit can make the world of
difference to that person who is hurting or feeling
alone this holiday season. If we practice being a
Blessing to someone and giving of ourselves to another
just as God so loved us that He gave his only Begotten
Son, Jesus we began to reflect the loving Character
that God created us in his image to be.

I am so pleased at the progression of the
Woman2Woman Lounge, we are an Online Woman's Lounge
that has the hopes of one day being an online
Magazine. Moms Working for the Kingdom our Community of
Christian Businesses Women conducts interviews
weekly on different women in ministry & business. She
could be a CWAHM, she could be a Christian Women with
a business outside of her home. She could also be a
Woman who is Christian that has her own Christian
Based Business. Either way these extraordinary women
of God converse with us Woman2Woman and allow us to
publish their stories in our Lounge to encourage and
inspire other women.

Right now, Moms Working for the Kingdom is hard at
work in trying to make and keep our lounge an
interesting and inviting place for others to visit.
Beside publishing interviews we want strive to be
informative to the public with the posting of current
events. We post articles pertaining to marriage and
family, finances & health and we also post

Sisterhood

Sisters in Christ; Meeting together in the Lord is ordained by His very hand. Living together in Him..exceeds time and space. We need not share the same physical space but divine spiritual space extends beyond culture, race, denominations, because our God is bigger than what
can be seen or understood by one's finite mind.

I say this as I think of Ruth and Naomi..two women of different nations..separated by generations..but knitted together to serve a divine purpose of the Master. Mary and Martha sisters , however different as night and day..but again, sisters of divine decree by the Master.

As a dear sister of mine reminded me tonight of the coming together of Mary and Elizabeth
..and the baby within Elizabeth's womb leaped ..for the Master's touch of His divine Love. For the God of our salvation was again using the " sisterhood " beyond measure to bring about a change in the world.

We, as sisters, too are being used by the Master's touch to come together ...look beyond the culture or age, but look unto the Master for that "touch" when you are brought together with another heart. Look into the eyes of your sister ..and you will see the heart of God. Let's look unto the Kingdom of God within us to see to it that His will is being brought to pass in the joining of two sisters in Christ. Who is that sister He has placed in your life..in your very heart..pray ..seek His face for the purpose..of the sisterhood.

Throughout NBCAM's history, Program Leaders have developed many creative ways to reach women. This section provides BRIGHT IDEAS to reach women in the clinic, at the workplace, and in the community. Some of these ideas may work for you or inspire new thoughts. NBCAM's educational campaign, "Pass the Word," consists of communication initiatives to facilitate a woman's decision to engage in early detection of breast cancer. As program leaders, you can help women and the community understand the importance of a triad of behaviors that includes mammography screening, clinical breast exams performed by health care providers, and breast self-examination.

Marriage is sacred

For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh.
Genesis 2:24

Marriage is sacred. In the Old Testament, the prophets use it to describe God’s relationship with his people Israel: “I will betroth you to me forever; I will betroth you in righteousness and justice, in love and compassion. I will betroth you in faithfulness, and you will acknowledge the Lord” (Hos. 2:19). God reveals his love to all people in a special way in the unique bond between husband and wife.

In our present-day culture, the institution of marriage is teetering on the brink of disaster. Much of what is called love is nothing but selfish desire. Even in marriage many couples live together selfishly. People are deceived in thinking that fulfillment can be found without sacrifice and faithfulness, and even though they may live together, they are afraid to love each other unconditionally.

Still, amid millions of floundering and ruined marriages, God’s love stands eternal and cries out for constancy and devotion. There is a voice deep within each of us, however muffled, that calls us back to faithfulness. On some level, all of us yearn to be united – with free and open hearts – to somebody, to some other “thou.” And if we turn to God in the trust that such unity with another is possible, we can find the fulfillment of our longing.

True fulfillment comes from giving love to another person. Yet love does not only seek to give; it also longs to unite. If I really love another person, I will be interested in knowing what is in him and willing to be led out of my one-sidedness. In love and humility I will help him to the possibility of a full awakening, first toward God, and then toward others. True love is never possessive. It always leads to the freedom of faithfulness and purity.

The faithfulness between a husband and wife is a reflection of God’s eternal faithfulness, for it is God who brings every true bond together. In God’s faithfulness we find the strength to let love flow through our lives, and to let our gifts unfold for each other. In the love and unity of the church it is possible to become of one spirit with every brother and sister, and also to become of one heart and soul with them (Acts 4:32).

Family is so important, spend time with your children

Time flies! It’s an old saying, but in today’s fast-paced world, it’s never been so true. Before we know it, our kids are all grown up—out on their own or off to college. Most parents realize the rewards of close family ties. Yet the demands of jobs and day-to-day household activities can be stressful and tiring. So, it’s easy for quality time with our kids to get squeezed out.

You won’t want to find yourself looking back, amazed at how quickly it went, and realizing you missed something special. More important, spending time with your child gives you a chance to shape his values. As your child gets older, you can provide a good frame of reference as he is exposed to the growing influence of peers and popular culture. The more time you spend with your child, the more you will be able to help him tune in to his abilities, skill-building activities, and healthy friendships.

Okay, but does your child want to spend time with you? As kids get older, they begin to declare their independence. But studies show that most youth like spending time with their parents.1 So, if you set fair rules and give your child the freedom that’s right for her age, you most likely will be able to enjoy each other’s company.

Time set aside works well—family dinner hour, homework time, shopping, trips, or a game in the evening. Still, finding real "quality" time can be tough. So, take advantage of that one-on-one time that just happens as you are cooking, caring for a pet, riding in the car, or raking leaves.
What is quality time? Quality time means communicating in an upbeat and useful way—watching TV in silence doesn’t count. Talking with children is one of the best things you can do to help them grow up confident and secure.

How to strike up a chat? Ask questions that take more than a yes or no answer. Ask younger children to explain something or talk about a story you read together, objects you found in nature together, or their take on school and friends. With older children and teens, talk about issues and events that occur outside the home or neighborhood. Ask teens for their opinions. Discuss the meaning of movies and ads. Mention problems you had during the day and how you dealt with them. Problem-solving skills can keep kids from turning to alcohol and illegal drugs to deal with troubles or from going along with risky activities.

Be positive. Praise your child for things you might take for granted, such as getting up on time, helping set the table, or doing homework without being told. Praise hard work as well as success. Avoid value judgments. Show you understand even if you don’t agree. Let your child know you respect his feelings and help him work through hard situations. He’ll probably welcome your attention even if he doesn’t admit it. Most youth say they turn first to a parent for help in solving problems.2
Spending time with your child takes more than talk, though. Find a chance each week to do something special with your child. If she is active in sports or creative arts, go to as many events as you can. Exposing kids to activities, people, places, and ideas can stir their imaginations and provide a menu of tempting choices. Take trips, look at art, gaze at stars, and play games. Activities that call for planning, forming, or solving involve making choices and thinking about results. These pursuits will fuel a kid’s curiosity and build creative thinking habits. Find out what she likes. For every interest, there is something to try.

Sure, life can be hectic. But don’t forget, when it comes to spending time with your kids, the rewards can be great—for you and them. If you haven’t done enough, don’t waste time feeling guilty. Just get started—it’s never too late to be the best possible parent.

What does it mean to reach out and find ways to include others? We are given gifts and talents to help us fulfill our mission on earth and to help us bless the lives of others. Service comes in many forms and many ways. Godly service leads us to be more like the Savior, giving of ourselves not looking for notoriety. Sharing our hearts and helping hands in service molds us. The more refined our hearts become it allows our hands to become greater hands of service and grow more responsive as we become more compassionate. When sharing our hearts it develops us and enables us to overcome our incapability to give completely. The scriptures urge us to increase our talents, to always be learning. Let us reach out to others with willing hands and loving hearts.

Let us stay mindful that God should always be first in our lives not the Last. He should not get the Leftovers he should get the First Fruits of all we do. Let us all seek the Lord in revealing to us the talents that lie within us so that we can fulfill his purpose for our lives and live our calling so that he may be glorified.

Welcome to the Blog of The Women2Woman Lounge. The Woman2Woman Lounge was created to encourage, uplift, and be supportive of our sisters in Christ. With us it's not always about business, we care about the struggles of one another, not just in a work related sense but within their families, marriages, relationships, and just life in general. The Woman2Woman Lounge is an affiliate of Moms Working for the Kingdom and was established in a celebration of sisterhood. We conduct one on one bi-weekly interviews with women of God willing and wanting to share their stories to encourage other women. It gives us an opportunity to get to know one another and be supportive. Here you will read stories of survival, hope, struggles with past abuse, many stories of victory because God has help them overcome and persevere beyond their past circumstances, and also stories of women working diligently within the Kingdom of God trying to reach out to and help others.
